I believe the D20 sys. should stay with D&D and D6 sys. should stay with Shadowrun

Shadowrun Man

First Post
Okay so I was wrong about sniper rifles in D20 Modern but modern has always been the domain of shadowrun, not the D20 system. I play D&D and enjoy it, but dont screw modern up with D20 system. D6 System=Modern, D20 System=D&D. D6 system just fits with modern, besides being paid to go against corperations, and is amoral, is strictly a SHADOWRUN trait. D20 system again just fits with melee oriented, is a D&D trait, and is a moral. Now for those saying I dont have a throut really need to compare the systems and they will see what I mean and I am just not blowing a bunch of steam.

Strange...

I thought that the Interlock system was the domain of modern roleplaying... It certainly predates Shadowrun, and is just as "modern" as Shadowrun. Heck, wasn't Phoenix Command a modern game too? Not a d6 game either. Or how about Top Secret? Top Secret SI? Delta Force? Vampire?

LOL... I can't believe you claim that "going against the corporations" is a STRICTLY Shadowrun trait... Yeah, never happened in the precursors to Shadowrun like CyberPunk eh? Nor in any game AFTER Shadowrun?

Claiming that something has ALWAYS been the domain of a relatively NEW RolePlaying Game is a case of ignorance.

Silly me... feeding the trolls.

stuff it with the troll quote or what ever you call it, okay so shadowrun was not the first modern RPG, but it worked better, then the others and put a cap on how much cyber modification you could take.

Really?

My appologies for the troll remark, it was underhanded.

Yeah, CyberPunk certainly didn't have a cap for cybernetics... I believe it actually INTRODUCED the rules for CyberPsychosis, rules whereby cyberpnetics caused penalties to a character, and a character with too many became an NPC. Rules quite similar to SR, as I recall...

In fact, CyberPunk introduced a lot of concepts that you find in ShadowRun, and handled them just as well as ShadowRun.

This is, of course, in My Opinion, as a player and game master of CyberPunk, CyberPunk 2020, ShadowRun and ShadowRun 3.

Dude, stuff it with the "stuff it" ...uh, stuff. You come to a d20 message board and post ridiculous stuff about how the Shadowrun system is modern (which it's not, it's near-future fantasy, and IMNSHO, a pretty sucky system anyway that takes way too much time to run) and how d20 Modern suxxors and you expect to be taken seriously? YOU ARE A TROLL! Even if you don't really mean to be, what else do you call it when you come to purposefully piss in someone else's bowl of Cheerios?

Shadowrun doesn't do anything better than D20 Modern, if what you want to play is D20 Modern. Make sense?

This is not a Shadowrun messageboard, if you want to talk about converting Shadowrun concepts to D20M or something similar, be my guest, but this pointless bagging on D20M needs to stop.

It is fairly obvious that you have no interest in being a community member here, all you have done so far is try to make trouble. I played and liked WEG Star Wars, but you don't see any posts here where I'm pissing all over D20 Star Wars.

Perhaps someone will ban Shadowrun Man. I have little doubt that his posts will continue to be inflammatory and a waste of space.

Ohh Ohh Ohh... Instead lets get rig of everything except for GURPS! GURPS does it all! Fantasy, Scifi, Steampunk, you NAME it!

You need nothing else!

*NOTE: I'm being sarcastic.*

Really, it's all personal prefrence. If I want to be realistic (d20 SUCKS at realism), I use GURPS. If I want to be cinimatic (because GURPS is piss poor at high cinimatics), I use d20.

It's all up to personal choice. Systems may be more suited for one thing then another, but honestly, it's all up to the GM and the players what they use and how they use it. You may like Shadowrun best. That's just wonderful, but is NO excuse for acting like an ass.

If you gave REASONS why d20 was unsuited and could back them up, great. Till then shuddup until you have some constructive opinions grounded in reality.

FUZION is better than all of these *insert random curse* systems!!!

:D

Actually, I have never used the FUZION system, just read it, and I think each of the named systems are designed quite well for the particular spin they place on the genre.

And I believe that a Purple singing dinosaur runs the universe. . .so what? BTW, TWERPS beats all the other "systems" like red-headed step children. :D

I don't need to compare systems to say that, without any shadow of a doubt whatsoever, you indeed have no throut.

I'm really sorry to be the one to inform you of this. I feel ashamed, being the one that has to tell you that you have no throut. Perhaps it will comfort you to know that I, too, have no throut.

Throutlessly yours,

Mistwell
