My Girlfriend got me a Sony home theater system. I finally got the surround sound. What a difference. :D RotK, Kill Bill and Bubba Ho Tep will rock.

I'd get one of those nice 40-50" HD projection TV's instead. The jury's still out on the durability of plasma (some experts claim they might not last more than five years) and they're 2-3 times more expensive.

I don't have room for one, my entertainment center has my DVD, stero, Xbox and VCR, the TV goes above it, I have enough room for a plasma, but those bigger TV's don't have room to put the extras unerneath. I don't think where i sit to watch is far enough away for projection TV anyway. Thanks for the idea thou.

Congratz Ken!

I got a cheap LCD projector hooked it up to my Hornet 64 and watched a buncha movies with my 5.1 speaker system - definitely cool stuff.

Don't rear projection TV's need big rooms to work right? Will my XBOX work with it?

I have a Sony 34" Widescreen HDTV (KV34HS510) in my bedroom and I am really happy with it. Works great for DVD's, HDTV (via DISH 811 in my case), and PS 2. It has a much better picture, in my opinion, than any of the projection screen TV's that I looked at.

The only down side to the TV is that it weighs over 200 lbs., so you would need something really sturdy for it to sit on. I have it sitting on top of an oak side-by-side dresser.

But thats not a projection TV. I thought with projection TV's, you have be a certin distance away from it, if you get to close, you lose the picture. I don't think my room is big enough for a projection TV.
