I FOUND PLANESCAPE FACTION PrC'S !! :)

First Post
Old news (their 3.0, from Dragon 287) but they're VERY cool. Has anyone played one of these? With the exception of the Athar, they don't seem to cater to any one class or class combo (rogues would probably make the best with the rest).

Any thoughts?

They were pretty good when I read them so many many months ago. No one took any interest in them so they got little use in my game. I had a few NPCs use them but that's just not the same.

I had a wizard/ranger who took several sensate levels. It was a really amusing character and class combination.

Chris has posted his other versions of the factions that didn't make it into that article in Dragon on his website, which I don't have handy right now. But he's an Enworld member, so if he sees this, he's liable to comment. :)

That was one of the coolest Dragon issues ever.

You can find the other 3E version Planescape faction prestige classes on my website at http://planehopping.tripod.com . I've updated some of them to 3.5 for my own campaign, but I haven't posted them anywhere. The prestige classes in the Planar Handbook are based on my original article but written by someone else...I've got a credit on the title page for my article "Fractious Factions" being source material.

If there's interest in the 3.5 versions of the prestige classes, I'll gladly post them here in the appropriate forum or submit them as an article...since there was no interest in them over on Planewalker, I figured the glut of prestige classes had taken its toll.

I prefer some other ones that a kindly fellow on RPGnet whipped up. They were shorter (5 level, mostly), and there were 2 or 3 different classes for many of the factions. Which felt appropraite to me.
