I downloaded keep on the shadowfell for a printable charactersheet. I got nosy and flipped around a bit. Then I made a offhand remark to a bud who told my GM.



Right when I thought I knew the answer to the riddle he changed it on me. Then "THE TRAP" went off (which wasn't there). He played it cool but his eyes gave me a great big @#$% you sandwich.

He passed me a note telling me to say I didn't want any magic items and when I split the party treasure (I'm the packmule) I not only had to give them my share but also my own personal wealth.

Golly it, GOLLY IT ALL!

As we were out in the driveway he sat in my car and called me out. We laughed but I know this guy he won't simply smack my hand if he catches it in the cookie jar next time. Lessoned learned.

Two suggestions:
1) Stop cheating.
2) Teach your friend the meaning of the phrase "Snitches get stitches."

Also, your DM made you give the rest of the party the money you already had? Weird.

First there are multiple posters on this account (hence "Family") but that's going to stop, just my wife and I are going to use it from now on. Our son and my brother are goning to get their own.

I'm the DM the OP is my brother, and I just got off the phone with him, that line about not getting caught was supposed to be ironic (*rolls eyes*). But anywho he cut the velvet on our pool table when we were kids and I got blamed to don't be afriad to go hard on him.

And yes his pockets are now empty and the rest of the group is flush.
-Seriously I think the real problem here is that forknowledge might not wreck the adventure for the player, but it does take something away from the rest of the group (including the DM) unless it's agreed upon.

I was aware of some spoilers ahead of time, due to just being on the boards (and wanting to get all the 4e info), as well as taking a look in KotS because I wanted to see some new monster stats (which were there before the MM came out).

One also shouldn't say "it was my [insert other family member here] on my account". That happens a lot on online first person shooters when someone's busted cheating.
