I guess I don't understand "Operation Power Level Gary" - why am *I* getting XP?

One time I pointed out to Gary that a couple pieces of artwork in the AD&D DMG resembled old Gustave Dore illustrations from Dante's Divine Comedy.
And it was the first time it was called to his attention!
Can I hop on the XP bandwagon for that? huh? huh?
Btw, I'm glad Enworld had those Q&A sessions and archived them. They're a piece of RPG history. Whose ever idea that was should get xp, too.

What I don't understand is why the powers that be don't just give EGG a bunch of xp to put him to the top of the pile, give him a custom title and be done with it. There's clearly a desrie here to put the co-creator of D&D at the top of the xp list, so why not just do it and be done with what has become a distortion to the value of having xp - and I say that as someone who has given out (and received) a load of xp for no other reason than to spread it around so I can give the colonel another xp.
Gary came to EN World and posted a lot here and there is no doubt in my mind that he'd be ahead by a clear distance if xp had been introduced when he was still alive. So come on Morrus, or whoever, go hack the database and put him to the top of the list. Give him 1 million xp so he can never be overtaken and then the distorted xp distribution can be brought to an end.
