I have a question about illumians

I was flipping through the races of destiny the other night, and I read the part about the magic of the sigils about the illumians head being corrupt if they fail the save against symbols and the like. Only, it doesnt say HOW it gets corrupt, is there another rule somewhere in the DM that i missed, or is that house rule decision?

It's probably a houserule thing.

I read that as color text to describe the -4 saving throw if Illumian character level is lower than the CL mechanic involved. It matches the "overpowers" text that describes if the Illumian's character level is greater than the CL then he is immune.
