I have no book and I must buy!

Paranoia XP is a nice book, if you're up for that sorta thing. They've expanded the background, give more sadistic comment on how to freak out your players. On the downside it's not an easy read, because of layout issues, partly intentional I guess, but still.

Anyway, the game is a good laugh, and your players will like a change of pace.

Just my suggestion

Psion-

What about Arms & Armor v3.5 from Bastion?

Well, I was just at Games Plus yesterday and unless it's waiting in the backroom, it's still not there. Is it officially out?

BTW Psion, City State of the invinicible Overlord looks like it's going to rock on toast. I was there to pick up a Battlebox and almost picked that up instead.

Okay, guys, the search is over.

I dropped by the FLGS at lunch, and it was there, so I snagged it.

I also snagged Quint Barbarian II. Younts is one of two Mongoose authors I will buy from. I was still iffy because I was none to pleased with the last few Quint II's... but then I saw the Celticy goodness Patrick blended in. He had me at "Gae bolga".

Heh. :)

I was glad to get that book. I wanted to write Barbarian I, but it was already going by the time I submitted a proposal. So I was happy to get my Conan, Celt and Native American groove on this time.

How's the art? I haven't actually seen the book yet, and I always like to hear how the art turned out.

Throw Creature Collection V into your amazon basket to push it over the shipping edge.

You will get the free shipping, they will ship out your book, and CCV will sit there until you cancel it as I don't think SSS is actually going to make it.

I'd say "decent." Probably a bit better than Quint Monk II, though I primarily say that because I don't like Renne's sketchier peices like he did for QM II, and he was absent (which is not to say I don't like Renne's work, when they are detailed.) No Moretti (my favorite of the usual stable of Mongoose artists), though lots of Fiorito (whose character art I like). The class/class combo illos are crisp but some of them look a bit too similar to one another (though I couldn't tell you who did them. It looks like the same guy who was heavy on the inks in Quint Elf I, though he has less of a "square jawed" problem here.)

Again, not that it's needed any more since the book is in my grubby hands, but:

CCV? Huh? I don't see a CC IV entry anywhere and can't even DREAM they had a CC V planned.

Yeah I saw after I posted that there was this third page of the thread.

On CCV, pretty funny, yet there it is in amazon and you can put in a preorder. I don't think the book will exist, but it could be used to push an order into the free shipping zone.

For a long while d20 Dune was the same way, still offered for preorder on amazon after the planned books cancelation had been anounced. And there is Mongoose's Slayer's Guide to Devils on offer even though I think that got turned into the Book of Hell and nobody updated amazon.
