I have not purchased a gaming book of any kind in over a year

The last thing I bought was Manual of the Planes as an impulse buy to try to take my mind off the events of September 11th - on around September 14th, 2001.

That is the last D&D book I bought and the last gaming book of any kind I purchased, found or borrowed.

Anyone else like me just feel like "I don't ever have to buy any more D&D stuff ever again, and I don't feel like it either?"

I may get the revised books though.

Last time I purchased any sort of gaming material was back in '97. A friend bought me the 3e PHB when they came out, but that's it. I suppose if I had the extra money, I'd buy more, but I just don't feel compelled to spend money on them over something else I might want.

We play regularly, but the last thing I bought was Masters of the Wild when it first came out. How long ago was that?

When I'm in Barnes and Noble, I love to peruse the rpg books. But I never buy.

Only books I want- the Book of War and the Revised core. Then life will be complete.

I'm in the "less is more" camp. You can run a campaign for years on just the core books, but thats like eating one potato chip.

I don't plan on buying any more books, because in 8-12 months I'll likely be a long ways from here. If I wasn't I'd still be buying. :)

Though... I'm not sure if I should buy anyways. Do people play much D&D in the service?

I'm a supplement slut. I admit it.

I'm trying to kick the habit, but people keep moving their lips, talking about how good book X or book Y is, and inside of two weeks, I usually own it.

I recently caught kreynolds talking about how I'd like the auto firearms rules from Ultimate Firearms by Charles Ryan.

Darn him. I plan to pick it up next week.

Darn him and his recommending kind.

heh.... if you have to ask...... :)

DnD is huge in the armed forces. A whole bunch of agressive bored young men....

DnD or bar brawls.... You'll find plenty of players so don't chunk yer books.

Word. Most of the time I go into the game store and come out with dice. I've gone numb from all the "Complete Books of X."

I think I'm one of those gamers who loves DnD, but is open to the idea of some newjack system after being deluged with product.

Nope. I'm not a source book slut, but if I see something interesting, I'll buy it. My collection grows slowly, but everything in it is something that I'm glad I got.

I buy source books, modules, setting supplements, etc., if they serve as an inspirational source for the campaigns I run and play in. My campaign is no longer 3E and is most definitely d20, and there are a lot of materials available that assist me in developing the flavor and style of my campaign world. True, there is an awful lot of bullhookey out there, yet some companies produce some really great stuff that I enjoy reading, considering, and implementing.

I like to create a lot on my own, but having a little inspiration here and there sure helps me out. ;)
