I Have Started My Own FREE Forum: Walk the Road!

Knightfall

World of Kulan DM
Okay, so this is something that I've been considering for some time, but I don't know how much work is involved in such an undertaking. I want to have a forum, for my own use, that would be the main gathering place for my various homebrewed RPG endevours.

This forum would replace my yahoo groups, eventually, but to start they would run side by side.

my main question is which FREE forum site is the simplest to use and setup? What do I need to know? And what should I be wary of?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

For a free, hosted solution, go with ezboard.com. That's about as easy as it gets, and it's plenty functional.

That was the initial plan, but when I click to create a board there it doesn't give a FREE option. It has an option for a trail "Gold Community", but that doesn't sound like whatI want.

Am I missing something? (Or maybe it has changed.)

I don't see how this is better than a Yahoo group. Why have you decided to go this route?

Because it's all in one place. People only have to join the one group, plus the board has more on it than just roleplaying forums.

However, I'm aminly doing this because I've always wanted to try and run my own messageboard. Will it work, I don't know yet. That's why the yahoo groups will remain for now. If it doesn't fly then the groups are still there.

Plus, the yahoo groups interface has been bugging me for a while now. :]

Cheers!

If I ever do end up making my own website, I'll likely have a forum of some kind, but I've been too lazy to follow that endevor.

If everyone created their own forums, would the world become lonely?

Sorry for being offsubject, but it appears that any further commentary is unnecessary considering you linked us to your forums. ;)

And if you ever decide to run pbp there, sign me up! :)
