I just creeped myself out! You ever done this?

Thank you! That is an excellent idea for a Call of Cthulhu game. Night time on a desolate road, trapped in a radio station. Your car breaks down, and the tracklist begins to play an ominous chant. Set to a blues beat.

You're welcome. Let me know if you run this game! Also, the real format of this station was even scarier; Soft Adult Contemporary. Our playlist heavily featured Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, Phil Collins, Air Supply, Peabo Bryson, etc. THAT was scary.

Don't EVER read Lovecraft in a situation like that. EVER.

Or walk down a dark, unlit street at night reading Lovecraft with one of those booklights...kept spinning around looking over my shoulder. :\

Man, I have creeped myself out more times than I can count. That too imaginative thing at work. I can't think of anything specific at the moment, nor do I really want to. :p

Last night I turned a bowl upsidedown to cover my older brothers cake. So in the morning I wake up and start eating my cereal, when I do I raise my spoon in such a way that the reflected silhouette of the spoon and my hand looked like someone with an axe, raised, behind me ready to strike. Silly me.

The closest thing like that that has happened to me was when I was in college. I was taking a biology class. The Prof brought in a box of salamanders and other small lizards. We looked at them and played with them etc. Then I went home and was about to get something to eat when...

There were a few dishes in the sink, one of which was an opaque glass bowl. This bowl has a slightly convex bottom, allowing for a small bubble of air to be caught under the bowl when it is submerged. While glancing into the sink, the long, narrow shape in the bottom of the bowl, which moved chaotically every time I touched the bowl, looked a lot like a lizard!

For about 2 minutes I was freaked out thinking "What the Hell is THAT! What the hell is a lizard doing in my sink!"

Try looking at yourself in the mirror for a really long time without blinking... It has been known to creep people out from time to time.

Thanks for the idea; I'll go try that right now :D

I played Doom 2 in the dark when I was a kid and home alone. That gave me the creeps.

When I was younger I had a job mowing the grass at an old cemetary out in the country (which was like 1 kilometer from my parents' farm). It would take about 20 hours alltogether (usually two 10 hour days). I'd spend all day driving around on the mower, looking at the ancient tombstones and wondering what the people were like when they were alive. I was too lazy to start early in the morning so often when I was done for the day it would be twilight. I'd shut the mower off and start walking across this silent, semi-dark, tree-shrouded graveyard and I'd hear footsteps right behind me. I'd whirl around in a panic to find there was no one behind me. I'd start walking again, hear the footsteps and again, no one there. Needless to say, I was scared silly.

Eventually I figured out that the sound was my own footsteps echoing off the tombstones. Lol. The graveyard was still damn creepy to walk in at that time of day though.
