I killed our campaign

Hey Barendd, just want to say that I sympathize with you whole-heartedly.

That and to curse this horrid thread necromancy!
Thanks, Laslo Tremaine, your support is appreciated in this trying time! Oh, wait! That was months ago! I've been over that since, well, Father's Day! :p

And I like your .sig quotation! H. L. Mencken really had a way with words! ;)

No, I didnt want to GM (I wasn't prepared and was looking forward to spending the summer preparing the CoC campaign.) I'd really rather play the GM.

Well, I didn't rant in front of you, so what you would have done is irrelevant.

No, I don't go through groups a lot. Do you? In fact, I still play with this group. And the DM of this group and I play in three groups together.

Please don't feed the trolls.

My personal feeling on reading your rant was that you were bored out of your skull, and that the whining player was simply the last straw. (And I would not have allowed the broth elemental either...) The point of a game is to have fun, if you folks were not having fun then there is all the reason in the world to end the campaign.

Sorry. I was out of town for six days and just spent several hours flying across country; I plead jet lag!! :p

I dont post here very much, but how is it that I am trolling? The man wanted a responce and he got it, it aint my problem that he cant play well with others.

If people want to continue to put up with this guy's abusive gaming ways, more power to them but next time he should not air his dirty laundry out in public for all to see and comment on.

If DnD were more mainstream, I'd like to get a job as a role-playing therapist....

Okay. Can I be your first patient? My players are all (pseudo) scientists, one is in college for engineering (another stopped at a geology major track) and loved to throw "kinks" in my game by introducing real-world physics and chemistry. I gently point out that their character would not possess this knowledge. They get angry and accuse me of being a "hoser" DM. Why can't I have players that will try unique, creative "in-game" ideas?
:p

Did you ever have one try to neutralize a Green Dragon's breath weapon by forcing sodium down its throat?

Not yet, but next time they face a green dragon, I'll let you know. :uhoh:

Half the time I'd allow them to research a scientific solution, after much time and money wasted on ideas that blow up (literally and figuratively); much like real inventors. The other times it's just too stupid to bother.

I'd like to see this scene in the next Dungeons & Dragons movie. They could use "Shake a Tail Feather" as background music.

Ugh.
I hate players like that. My group used to have one before we got rid of him.
If your still putting up with him, your a better person than I am.
