• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

I need some beta-testers for an upcoming gaming resource...

If you're playing games with the aid of a computer, GMs will probably get a little extra benefit in that they can cut out cards for their players AND the monsters and drag as many as they need out to the screen. (Got 3 skellies? Drag the skellie card out three times...)

When I implement numbers one of the purposes will be to track initiative and another can be to track HP.

Finally, by using cards with conditions, you'll be able to quickly keep track of conditions on monsters and players with ease.

Once I "go live" I'll put a demo vid together with a sample round or two showcasing this exact use of the cards.

Regardless, I'm glad people are getting excited (I must admit I was surprised when no one responded at first - I posted the original call for testers a week ago. But now I'm glad that people are jumping in. Yay!)

Just started it the first time.

"Installation" was a no-brainer (just extract the archive into any directory - it now has a "permanent" place in my "4e" subdirectory of my "rpg" directory)

Runs surprisingly fast and stable (.NET 3.5 is already installed due to the old "offline" tools from WotC).

And it was even able to produce a "monster card" (directly from the entry of the Monster Builder) which will help me run my next MapTool game so I can have the full monster description in one simple view rather than try to find the relevant infos in/on the monster token.
I needed to expand the size of the card from the standard 175*250 to 350*500 to be able to read the info easily but it really worked well.

I'm just wondering if there is any way (yet) to remove cards from the screen...

Glad to hear all this! Double right click to remove the card from the screen.

Today I've been playing around with the program and I am changing the max cards on screen from 6 to 10 for the trial version. I'll be uploading a new version with this change in a bit - when I do the same URL as in the email I sent will work to get the new version.

I'm also going to unlock a feature for now that would usually be only for "pro" gamers - but I want the testers to see it and be able to use it now - the "Snap to Screen Grid" option will be unlocked for now. (And locked again later.)

OK - the new build is up with these two changes and another change: Adding a card to a deck other than the first one won't cause the program to swap tabs on you. (IE, after adding a card, the program will stay on the tab you have selected.)

Use the same URL from before but ...

Only replace the EXE and PDB files from the archive or you will lose your saved cards. Don't overwrite any XML files!!!

Everyone: I'm a month behind deadline and I know this. Sorry it happened, but sometimes life throws you a curve ball. I'm back at the plate and back on the continuation of this project. I just sent out the invites to my new private messages. Sorry for the delay.

All. I've decided that if I didn't get back to it like I was hoping to do, then I need to change direction on this project.

As of today, I'm taking the source code and going to put it on code.google.com - which means this project is going to become open source (and thus free!)

Attached (if it'll let me) is the program (not the code) - anyone is welcomed to use it and I'll remove the "paid for" version checks soon. Have fun everyone!
