I have to agree that demons and devils don't really fit the feel of Birthright, anymore than they do Dragonlance.

Why not? I mean if you had godsblood lying around, seems to me you'd have evil outsiders coming by the truckload to steal it!

There are evil outsiders - they just take the form of undead

In 2E Birthright, demons/devils were not listed as AD&D monsters one would encounter in the typical Birthright campaign. Instead you have the cratures from the Shadowworld and the Awnsheghlien - both filling the inherently evil creature niche nicely.
