I probably ruined my battlemat!

I have heard that automotive Brake Cleaner can remove marker stains (wet erase or permanant) from a battlemat, but I haven't tried it. I wouldn't be surprised if it could remove the printed grid lines though. I have a Chessex mat that is stained with dry erase and I think I have a can of brake cleaner in the garage, I'll give it a try when I get a chance and post a follow-up.

On the other hand, if it looked really good, you could just frame it and hang it on the wall. :D

I support this idea. An homage to 3e.

You won't need a battlemat anymore after 4e comes out with the digital table! :D

Now that I think about it, I should take a picture of it. It might be cool enough just to post what I've done online :p

I just used up the last sheets of my easel pad of 1" grid paper last night drawing up a couple of big maps. $10 lasted us a year, and I've still got the prettier and re-usable ones available.

Please email me and tell me where you got 1" grid easel pads for just $10!!! Everywhere I look, they are much more expensive....

Just don't use turpentine. Sure it takes the marker colors off. And it takes the black lines and oyster coloring with it. Knew someone who did this with first checking a small area. Ended up with a nice large piece of white vinyl (with patches of oyster where he hadn't dumped the stuff).
