I think i have a jacked copy of E-Tools!

ok its simple, i cannot print, or view anything i make.........i have uninstalled and reinstalled.......still nothing......then i decided well heck it is due, i backed-up and re-formatted. then after i got everything all setupi decided to try it again. still will not work, give me a page cannot be displayed issue like i am not on the net. i really do not want to go through the trouble of returning the item, but.....i will if needs be. has this happened to anyone else? if so how was it corrected?

Good luck returning the item. The common "No-Return" software laws unfortunately are taken advantage of by bad software companies also.

Try updating the XML parser. That may fix your problems with displaying.

Your problems are indeed due to an outdated XML parser. If you update to Internet Explorer 6.0 it will definitely solve the problem. Alternately you should be able to download and install this file:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=32833&area=search&ordinal=1

it should also solve your problem.

I had the exact same problem - even posted about it here a couple days ago. I updated to IE 6, and the problem was solved.

Your problems

These are two well-known issues with E-tools.

The "not printing" issue is solved by updating your XML parser, typically by installing/upgrading to Internet Explorer 6.0.

The other issue, "custom items not available to be seen or for purchase," is solved simply by closing E-tools and opening E-tools up again; this is the downside of E-tools using an Access database to store information.

It's kind of sad that you have to download IE 6.0. I mean, if I didn't feel like upgrading my browser, or was on a slow connection, that would really make me mad.

Software upgrading is price anyone pays for getting new technology. No one should be surprised that they need to update thier browser frequently when you have to deal with XML.

True, but Joe average user doesn't know this. Especially since it is not listed as a requirement on the box and the error message is not informative.
