I think I know who has the Star Wars license...

...FFG was, essentially, the company I was hoping was going to get Star Wars.

Not me. I'm completely disappointed.

I was so holding out hope it was Palladium.

I was looking forward to playing a mega-damage inflicting Jedi and wading through Juicers and Glitter Boys!

Poop!

(*I am completely joking*);)

Well truth be told, I don't think this surprised anyone.

But the LCG is reminding me of the old CCG days....definetly interested...but then again I'm assuming that I can't play as Vader and that is a turn off.

This is good news- maybe we'll finally get a really good Star Wars-themed strategic board game out of it (think Twilight Imperium or StarCraft: The Board Game)... the minute they have one for preorder, I'll be having my copy shipped over.

It's been awesome to watch Fantasy Flight move from a marginal maker of interesting board games in the late 90's, into RPGs, and now a gaming industry powerhouse today. Sometimes I wish I'd stayed in Minneapolis and tried to get a job with them...
I don't think the license includes board games, unfortunately. FFG's announcement only talks about "miniatures games", "roleplaying games" and "card games".

RPGs are part of the license, but no announcement so far. I wonder if they have something planned for the near future or if it was just part of the overall license and they are still deciding whether to produce one.
Read the last sentence of their announcement: "These two exciting titles are only the beginning, and we’ll be announcing additional Star Wars card, roleplaying, and miniatures games in the coming months!"

Sounds to me like they've already got something in the works. And, who knows, maybe they got Bill Slavicsek on board to work on it, too.

It's quite unfortunate that FFG don't appear to have the boardgame license: they make some excellent boardgames.

Cheers!

So, is anybody at GenCon, and is FFG saying anything else about these games there?

EDIT:

Not that I'm all desperate for infor, or anything. I'm just ... a little desperate for info. :D

Currently running SWSE DOD. I only bought the books after they were cancelled, but I wish there had been more adventures made for SWSE. I wish Polyhedron was still around - in digital form. :D
