I think I know who has the Star Wars license...

Clone Wars is also huge and has polished the turd that is the prequel trilogy a great deal. And when Bioware's TOR hits later this year, it'll likely have a crazy amount of publicity -- if you thought the TV ads for Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2 were everywhere, I suspect you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the "L" in "LCG"?

Living Card Game. It's like a Collectible Card Game (e.g. Magic), but it is sold in non-random packs. Generally you get the base set, and then a pack of 60 cards (20 new cards, 3 copies of each) comes out each month to expand the experience.

Cheers!

This is good news- maybe we'll finally get a really good Star Wars-themed strategic board game out of it (think Twilight Imperium or StarCraft: The Board Game)... the minute they have one for preorder, I'll be having my copy shipped over.

It's been awesome to watch Fantasy Flight move from a marginal maker of interesting board games in the late 90's, into RPGs, and now a gaming industry powerhouse today. Sometimes I wish I'd stayed in Minneapolis and tried to get a job with them...

I'll certainly be interested to see what they do if/when they do a Star Wars RPG. I'm almost certainly not buying (since I'm really happy with SWSE), but we'll see. Of course, if it looks anything like WFRP 3e then I'm definitely out.

RPGs are part of the license, but no announcement so far. I wonder if they have something planned for the near future or if it was just part of the overall license and they are still deciding whether to produce one.

If it's anything like their Battlestar Galactica game I'll be preordering too!!

A SW license and the right application of it (which FFG can do), gets you in every place with shelf space, not just FLGSs, B&M Bookstores and Big Box stores.

There are not enough swearwords in the English language to go here:

"_____________ YES!!!!"

Thanks for the linkage, Merric - FFG was, essentially, the company I was hoping was going to get Star Wars. I haven't played anything from them that I've been disappointed with, and the fact that they announced a lead-off X-Wing game is ... not quite all my hopes and dreams, but pretty damn close.

Rock. On!

EDIT:

Reading the X-Wing description, it sounds a lot like Wings of War. This is a good thing. :D
