I want Call of Cthulu!

if you want Cthulhu, I highly recommend Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu Edition 5.61.

But I know no one will listen....

I bought two editions of Cthulhu, 4th and 5th, and I'm just tired of them coming out with new editions of books that are already out. I mean Elric 5th edition? CoC 5.6? This isn't a computer program. They need to focus more on supplements and less on reissuing the main book time and time again.

Hopefully d20 will enable them to get a better cash flow and enable them to satisfy d20 and BRP fans.

Chaosium's CoC is a superb game... but it's not d20, and if your players are of 'I love d20' type, CoC d20 can be a bridge between D&D and a true Cthulhu game...

I'm eagerly waiting for CoC d20.

Nicely said!

Agreed.

Ad you will create the Cthulhu d20 version of 'The Orc and the Pie', 'The Giant Squid and the Cake'

From my experience, the shortest technically-correct Call of Cthulu adventure is called, "The Investigators Quietly Go Insane for No Discernable Reason". You don't even need the orc OR the pie! All you need is an empty 10'x10' room with no exits, add Investigators, and wait for their own imaginations to do them in!

have you seen the new stream of supplements coming out from Chaosium?

Keeper's Companion, Investigator's Companion, The Complete Masks of Nyarlathotep, and several others.

Chaosium is already taking advantage of the fact that D20 will make CoC a more mainstream game.

Indeed, I believe WotC will not issue (m)any supplements for CoC D20.

Let's be fair to Chaosium here.

The last 3 versions of Chaosium's CoC have been really nothing but reprints. However rather than just reprinting it they have used the opportunity to make some minor clarifications and update the format. For example, the only real difference between v5 and v5.6 was a hardcover, new internal artwork and the addition of Call of Cthulhu story.

Chaosium have gone to great lengths to explain this and also produced the minor amendments on their website for free.

In fact many of their supplements printed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd versions are entirely compatible with later versions. The majority of the game has not changed. D&D has undergone far more changes.

This may be slightly off topic but...

The local Vampire LARP took Vampire and combined it with Call of Cthulu! I think they were hunting what they thought were diabolists but no...they were worshippers of Cthulu!

Needless to say, it was an intense game.
