I want more Vile!

Ambient's Librus Equitas Compiled.

Many of the prestige classes within were what I kinda hoped for from the book of Vile Darkness.

GR's Armies of the Abyss was actual much more vile than the book of vile darkness, IMO. That one actually disturbed me, and I like dark fantasy.

Then again, George RR Martin is also much more vile than the BoVD, and he's a big hit on these boards.

George? Vile? Surely not. Gritty yes, dark sure but I wouldn't call him vile. Unless you mean to say that you are not a fan of his work and you find his writing vile. I would have to disagree with you there as I think he is maybe one of the finest fantasy writers in the last fifty years. But I digress.

I have heard many great things about green ronin's stuff, and this thread is just one more reason to mosey on over to my local gaming store and check them out.

Thanks

Of course, according to Jack Chick, every issue's about evil.

Especially the gnome issue.

Vile gnomes. They pee in the swimming pool and rape the pink flamingoes!

Incest, pedophilia, rape, torture... that's what the BoVD calls vile too.

Man, I just got Dragon #300 for the sealed "vile" content and was super unhappy when all I got was some lame-o creature cultist PrCs and a handful of spells (the only redeeming feature of the special "vile" section). The rest of the issue pretty much sucked unless you need fiendish dragons or high level drow NPCs. Why does Dragon suck so bad most of the time? Some issues are great, but most only have a few pages of useful things.

Ooh Shelzar: City of Sins sounds good.

Shelzar the Wicked
It is said that the exotic city of Shelzar can provide any vice, and that anything can be bought there if one has the gold. Venture to the most wicked and decadent city of Ghelspad, learn its secrets and partake of its pleasures - but never let your guard down, for death comes as quickly as delight in Shelzar's smoke-filled chambers and shadowed alleys.

I don't object to monster cultist PrCs per se, just that nothing about them is "vile" enough to include in a special sealed section of a magazine! Maybe erinyes or succubus cultists...
