I Want To Play An Intelligent Mouse

Phew! Yeah, my Fine Rapier only does 1 point of damage. Yeah, I'll need that Sneak Attack damage. Man.

What would be good feats for a Rog2/Sor1 Mouse?

While they are rats, and not mice, check out Terry Pratchett's "The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents." One of the best thought out examples of intelligent, sentient animals as opposed to "animal-shaped creatures that think and act like humans" I've ever read. The written Rat language was sheer genius.

Weapon Finesse, if you don`t get it via your "mouse traits", which you probably should. Probably Dodge, Mobility, or Improved Initiative..

I don't know, I'm thinking of ditching Rapier and going for heavy crossbow since it does 1d3 at fine size. Also, my dex and AC are already improbably high, I'm not sure I NEED dodge and mobility.

How in the world are you pulling a Sorcerer out of this race? Ignoring the Chr penalty?

I'd take Point Blank Shot, if you're going to go with the crossbow. That +1 to damage is pretty significant for someone doing a base of 1d3.

Is there a Redwall d20 product in the works somewhere? it's not my cup of tea, but IMHO it would be great as an introduction to gaming for some kids I know...

Oh, and Pkitty? You my ninja! :)

Kinda suprised no one's mentioned this possibility yet...

Could be that you were out adventuring as a 4th level human Rog2/Sor2 when you were killed by wolves. The local druid took pity on you, and Reincarnated you. Unfortunately, you came back as a mouse. This would get around the racial changes to mental stats.

Or, if you wanted to come from an already intelligent warren of mice, this could have happened to one of your ancestors.

Check out these resources ;)

Can't help on how to play one as a PC, but as far as stats go there is a mouse familiar in Dragon 280:

Mouse: CR -: Fine Animal; HD 1/4d8; hp1; Init +2 (Dex); Spd 15 ft., climb 15 ft.; AC 20 (+8 size, +2 Dex); Atk none; SQ scent; Face 1/2 ft. by 1/2 ft.; Reach 0 ft.; SV Fort +2, Ref +4, Will +1; Str 2, Dex 14, Con 10, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 3.
Skills: Hide +14, Move Silently +6, Swim +10.

Based on that, the racial modification for a mouse PC would be (once again using average Intelligence, and +1 Cha from being awakened):

Type: Magical Beast
Size: Fine
HD Per class (ignore the +2 from Awakening - or, optionally, add them in at no change to ECL due to very poor ability modifiers and "fine" size)
Spd 15, climb 15
AC +8 size
Natural Attacks: None.
Special Qualities: Scent
Face: 6" X 6"
Reach: 0
Racial modifications to Saves: None
Racial modifications to Abilities: STR: -8, DEX +4, CON - , INT - , WIS +2, CHA -7 (or -6 of you want an even number).
Racial skill bonuses: Hide +10, Move Silently +4, Swim +14
Saves: Use per class
ECL 0 (Net racial bonus/penalties to stats is -4 physical, -5 (or -4) mental)

I'd let them stand on their hind legs and use their fore paws as hands.

Riding the cat familiar into battle

okay, this aside caught my attention.

In Tome and blood there is a section that details possible familars for tiny wizards and sorcerers. If this were going on in my game (and I wouldn't put it past my players) I'd not allow a cat as a familiar, and require that the familiar be a creature that is actually smaller than the mouse.

Say hello to your new ant familiar, in other words.

As for the charisma problem with becoming a sorcerer -- I had a similar situation in my home game -- the druid wanted a raccoon animal companion to become awakened and start to gain Bard levels. I let him create an unusual raccoon -- one that was on the high end for raccoons and charisma (an 18 before the penalty) which will give him something likea 12 to start with after the -6 penalty I decided on), then he can boost it with levels later on. He had to sacrific a lot of the raccoon's dexterity for this, but I let him get the awakened animal companion/cohort he was looking for. The Raccoon (named Fergus) will never be a great bard, but that's not the end of the world.
