IA: A Teacher for Laynie

"Well, getting the note from Grolsen won't be easy by covert means. I do have an idea, though. If we can get near enough, we could use a spell to instantly copy the true note onto a blank parchment and then take the copy without anyone being the wiser."

"Hrm, well, maybe I could see if I could convince him to help me pull up some records of any other freefolk who attended. That should keep him busy for a bit."

"Let's"

Vanitri will head back with Lex, and then try to talk the Dean into helping him with a personal research project where he'd like to research Freefolk in the Accademy.

OOC: Diplomany can Bluff to distract him, admittedly Vanitri is curious of this as well though.

*Lex leads Vanitri to the Dean's Office and knocks before entering.*

"Hi Dean Grolsen. I guess you heard about Gaark, right? Anyway, Vanitri here, our new student, has a question for you."

"Ah yes. I have the suicide note here. A tragedy really. How can I help you, young man?"

*As Vanitri asks the dean about Freefolk student, Lex sneaks up to the note and mutters her spell quietly, hoping that Vanitri speaks loudly to cover her as she touches the note and then the blank parchment to make the copy. Fortunately, the dean is distracted by Vanitri. In the end, he directs Vanitri to a few records:*

"Well, I'm sure you know better than I that the Freefolk are loath to settle down in general, so there are very very few. Here's where to check though. Take this to a clerk."

*He scribbles down the name of the records for Vanitri.*

"Thank you very much Dean Grolsen. I didn't think there'd be many, which makes it that much more an honor to attend."

Vanitri walks back with Lex, and then says, "Oh, I almost forgot about Laynie, don't want to leave her alone too long," and heads out with her back to Lex's room.
