IA: A Teacher for Laynie

*Vanitri doesn't notice anything dangerous, as the two of them continue forward along the hallway. After only a short stretch, the hall opens off into another room, and this one has not been looted. The room contains a small desk with a chair and a little candeholder on the desk. There is also a small cot off to the side of the room, and slightly-faded tapestries adorn the wall. An ornate chest adorned with imagery of serpents sits against the wall.*

Vanitri grins and looks down at the chest. "Laynie, take the lantern and back up a bit. Some people like to trap these things."

Once she is back a bit, Vanitri will search for traps, taking some time (Take 20 if he can).

*Laynie nods and backs up a little bit. Vanitri inspects the chest carefully without touching it, but he doesn't notice any traps.*

"Is it okay?" Laynie asks, "Look at the runes!"

*She steps forward and touches the chest, and red runes all along the sides of the chest begin to glow, but they don't do anything dangerous. Instead, the clasp of the chest unlocks with a click and the chest opens just slightly.*

*The chest contains several objects of note. First, there is a thick dark leather tome with a fancy silken bookmark attached to the top to keep place and an ornate latch holding it shut made of the same dark leather as the book's cover. There is also a slender fluted wand-like object made of fine ebony, inlaid with serpents crawling up and down the shaft and capped with a tiny emerald. Additionally, there is a small necklace in the shape of an intricately carved serpent with eyes made of sparkling green gemstone, possibly also emerald. Finally, the chest also contains various gems worth about X00 gold.*

Vanitri smiles, "Looks like we found something good little one. Let's put it away for now, perhaps we can find out what it all is later then."

OOC: X=2, looks like I might need a little for an identify.
