IA: A Teacher for Laynie

*The Draconic Vanitri hisses as his energy is leeched from him by the ray, leaving him almost as enfeebled as the human Vanitri before him. He breathes a wave of darkness, but thanks to his catlike reflexes, Vanitri dodges the worst of the attack, the energy stolen by the vampiric touch absorbing the rest.*

Vanitri reaches his hand out and tosses a lightning bolt at the dragon.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*The enfeebled dragon still manages to dodge the worst of the lightning bolt--but it's a really good lightning bolt, so it still takes a decent shock. It moves up to Vanitri and slashes him with its claw, though the attack lacks much strength.*

(OOC: 18 + 5 = 23 saves, but 6 4 4 6 3 is 23, so 11 Damage

Vanitri takes 2 Damage.

Vanitri's Turn--no more level 3 spells.)

 

[Bront]

Vanitri steps back and shoots a scorching ray at the draggon.

*The ray burns at the dragon and it growls:*

"Insolent fool! you are nothing without me! NOTHING!"

*It steps forth and attacks with both claws, the bite, and two razor-sharp wing slashes. Vanitri dodges one of the wings, the bite comes up against his Mage Armour, and the second wing deflects off of his toughened skin. The other two attacks rip into his flesh, beyond the energy drained before.*

(OOC: Dragon takes 15 Damage and Vanitri takes 7 Damage.

Vanitri's Turn--he's now cast 4 level 2 spells, so he's down to the last one due to his buffed-up 22 Int)

 

[Bront]

"I don't believe you."

Vanitri backs away and casts his final Scorching Ray...

OOC: you never told me what patches I have on the robe btw, might come in handy Particularly if he has a cure one, he can get that out now and drink it later.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*Vanitri shoots off another ray and then pulls out a healing potion.*

*Meanwhile, the dragon breathes darkness again, engulfing and enfeebling Vanitri and staggering him.*

"You see? See how you tremble without me?"

(OOC: Dragon takes 16 Damage, Vanitri fails save with 7 + 3 = 10 and takes 20 Damage and is staggered!)

 

[Bront]

Vanitri chucks the potion. "Nothing a stiff drink won't take care of, another Accademy tradition."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"And like a drunk in a barfight, you'll be aching all over soon."

*The dragon continues its assault, connecting with both claws and one wing.*

(OOC: I rolled a bit more than necessary, but Vanitri is back up to 26 before the next attack routine

Vanitri then takes 9 Damage.)

"You're all talk. Don't you have anything better to do that to beat up on yourself?"
