D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

Dent's definitely jumping. Alone if need be, but hopefully with the benefit of feather fall. I'll let [MENTION=23484]Kobold Stew[/MENTION] tell you if Carradoc jumped or stopped when Dent shot out a hand.

OOC: If there's no target from above, Carradoc is jumping and using Feather Fall. I take Dent's interruption to have taken place before Carradoc had started counting 1, 2, 3.

Telepathicall, before everyone jumps, Thaliss says Wouldn't it be wiser to go through the room we just came from, in case we need to retreat? We would be jumping into the unknown, without an escape route

OOC: Can Damien see what's down there? He can see in regular and magical darkness up to 120 feet. I also think we probably should drop a rope or something at a minimum.

Tolan purses his lips and follows the other to the main hall, peering down into the darkness with the others. He seems extremely leery of jumping into the unknown and his almost certain demise.

Dent leaps into the darkness.

OOC: I am uncertain if falling damage applies, depends on feather fall. If it does [roll0]

Upon landing with a bit of a solid footing Dent can see something in the corner behind what was, previously, a cage. The cage bars are lowered, possibly triggered when the stairs were collapsed.

The creature seems to react, screeching and chittering from its corner of the room. It lumbers forward slowly, only a few steps. The creature touches its strange metallic blades against the bars of the northern edge of its prison and feels for the doorway, hauling itself through. The monster seems strange... its eyes are gouged and stitched shut. Its natural claws appear to have been ripped out, and then augmented with metal blades.

Dent bellowed, "Pro cuius amore fratrem!" He backed up to AC14, hoping to lure the creature forward into the others' line of sight, and readied his longsword and shield. Somewhere deep down, fear of dying niggled between his ears, but he stifled that worry, his already dark eyes glittering with anticipation. He called up to the others, "It's big, hoary, and angry. Coming from the northwest."

[sblock=HERE WE GO!]Move: 10' to AC14
Action: Ready an attack with longsword [roll0] for [roll1]
Bonus Action: Shove prone Athletics [roll2]
Reaction: Fighting Style (protection) on an ally within 5' of Dent (if any!)

AC 21
hp 33/44[/sblock]

Cringing at the sight of the monstrosity, Damien called down, "You got this, Dent!"

Dropping his pact weapon, the warlock unslung his crossbow and fired a quarrel at the creature.

OOC: Item Interaction: Ready Crossbow
Action - Attack: [roll0], Damage: [roll1]

OOC: I'm assuming that Thaliss isn't at the bottom. If Carradoc is, so is Thaliss, as per the occ thread

Thaliss mumbles an incomprehensible curse, then concentrates and gestures silently, and a stone wall with slits appears around him.

OOC: Movement: none (I am assuming that he is either at the edge of the hole, or at the bottom, and has line of sight to the creature)
Action: cast minor illusion of a stone wall with slits surrounding him
Bonus action: use 1st level sorcerer slot to cast hex on the creature, disadvantage on strength checks
Slots: sorcerer 1st level: 0/2, warlock 2nd level: 2/2

Question: since we are from above, would this cancel out the disadvantage from a prone target if Dent is successful? Would we have advantage anyway?
