~ The metal of Miles's shield sounded as rain upon a roof with every grain of sand and dust that the spell of wind in front of him kicked up. Upon seeing (and unfortunately, smelling) the roasted Kenku in front of him, the mercenary looked behind him to see more of the squawking monstrosities.

" Gods' Blood, how many of these bastards are there!?" he roared, keeping his spear threatening the enemy in front of them.

" Handle this one, Dent, I'll make sure they don't surround us!"

With that, Miles retreated a step and then took off at a run towards the entrance of the Tavern, staying behind his protection and planting his feet firmly. Windvane howled in his hand as the spear saw the first crow around the corner and was quickly jabbed at it's cawing beak, sapphires glinting with the thrust and sparking thunderstorms in their reflection. Miles kept going, though, and made to set himself in front of the murder of Kenku, intent on keeping them bottled up to be finished off quickly.

" Back, you black-feathered demons! Or we'll cook you, too!" ~

OOC: I think it's like a Flaming Sphere spell, meaning it cannot be attacked but the Spellcaster has to concentrate on it, so if we hit them, it can break that Concentration.

Dent scowled as Miles retreated.

He turned a shifty-eyed gaze to the queer dust devil spellcraft whorling in a swirl in front of him and, thinking better of interacting with it, decided instead to seek out its source. An open doorframe to the north caught Dent's attention. Ignoring the useless kenku within reach, Dent shoved off and made a circuitous route around the dust devil, angling all the while in a padfooted stalk toward the doorframe. He kept his shield at the ready, just in case. He edged past bits of rubble, rounded the corner, then stalked further into the room.

Dent smirked when he caught sight of the cowled coward hunkered down in the room. Quirking a finger broken too many times in fisticuffs, Dent beckoned for the monk to approach. Dent's magic was indelicate, more a blunt fist than the deft weave of Thaliss, Carradoc, or Maighan. Still, it was effective enough at times. Dent waited, smiling, to see whether his quarry came forth to duel.

OOC: Move: AP14
Action: Dash from AP 14 to AU16
Bonus Action: Cast compelled duel on cowl dude, Wisdom saving throw DC 15 or be compelled to fight Dent (and other stuff from spell description, PHB 224)

hp 55/64
AC 21

Carradoc's spell has no effect on the monk.

Miles kills a chicken.

The priest deflects the first of Kubeba's attacks with his shield spell. This lets his second attack through killing the man. He steps up.

Dent moves around the Kenku drawing an attack. It definitely misses. He challenges the priest who seems quite compelled.

Thaliss and Maighan still have actions.
