D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

As soon as Tolan shuts the gate three of the devil statues suddenly animate and pounce from across the garden.

These gargoyles attack Aridha, Dent, and Damien respectively.

The first gargoyles bite and claw attack miss Aridha.

The second gargoyle lands a lucky claw on Dent for 6 points of damage.

The third gargoyle misses both attacks on Damien.

The noise of the gargoyles moving and attacking doesn't seem to reach any other ears at the temple.

Dent stepped forward five feet to clear some space for the others. He swung his longsword at the animated statute in AQ7, and focused on maintaining his blessing of self, Tolan, and Damien.

OOC: Move: From AR7 to AR8.

Action: [roll0], add [roll1] to the attack roll, for [roll2]. [roll3] with [roll4] from War Caster feat to maintain concentration on bless.

Reaction: Fighting Stance (Protection) on Damien to impose disadvantage on an attack made against Damien so long as Dent can see the attacker and Damien is within 5' of Dent.

Without thought, Tolan drops into his fighting stance, mind and body fused. Somewhere in the back of his head, he is conscious of Dent's ego that is somehow lending him strength. He slides forward, darting around the side of his target, trying to free up the lines. Then he lashes out with intense focus, keen to provoke his opponent away from the others.

OOC: Move: AT9
Bonus Action: Rage
Action: Reckless Attack vs. AS8

[roll0]
[roll1]
[roll2]

[roll3]

Reckless attack - advantage on all attacks AGAINST me.
HP: 41/41 AC: 17
Rage (1/3 used - round 1/10 raging)
Resistance to bludgeoning, slashing, piercing
Advantage on strength checks and saves

OOC: Personally, I'm going to try to provoke every one of them, so if Dent doesn't move that would be great. Additionally, I don't think you need to designate Protection. Just as long as an ally is within 5 feet of you, you can protect them. I say that since I'm about to move out of the way.

Such magnificent statues! Save me one, servant!

Damien was not at all happy with the statues coming alive. Thinking quickly, he sought to turn his opponents' advantage against them. Whispering words of dark magic, the warlock sheathed himself in unholy protection. Darting about, he taunted the gargoyles in hopes of drawing their attacks. "Honestly, who dolled you all up? Gluttony? You must have drawn the short straw. Right?"

OOC: Action: Cast Blade Ward
Move to AO6 in a way to provoke AoOs from all of the gargoyles

HP: 44/39
AC: 16
Current Spell Effects: Armor of Agathys & Blade Ward, & Bless
Spell Slots: X/1/-/-/- (2nd)

Notes:
Resistance to (non-magic?) bludgeoning, piercing, & slashing
Successful melee attack on Damien deals 10 HP cold damage to attacker while temp HPs in play

Dent moves and attacks the gargoyle, drawing an attack that fails to land. Dent's strike is also too weak to penetrate the creatures stone skin.

Tolan moves as well and strikes out recklessly, landing a blow, but he notices that even when he can cut the creature it's skin still seems supernaturally tough. (4 damage)

The gargoyles Damien provokes each strike out dealing 3 and 2 damage (after resistance) respectively and taking 10 points of cold damage each.

Standing where he is, Carradoc reaches out a hand at the nearest gargoyle [AS8], and fires an icy beam of withering. "Pew."

OOC: Chill touch [roll0]; if a hit [roll1] damage, and no healing for a turn.

Thaliss' blood chills as he sees the unnatural creatures attack. First water, now stone...interesting He thinks to himself. He then mumbles a curse involving the transformation of statues to fecal matter, and then emits a blast of force at the creature between Dent and Aridha

OOC: Bonus action:cast hex on AQ7 Gargoyle (disadvantage to strength checks)
Action: Cast Eldrich blast on AQ7 Gargoyle

[roll2]
