"Let's do it." Damien nodded, grateful for the rest. He re-conjured his pact weapon, preparing for combat.

OOC: Just a reminder for anyone who has yet to roll their hit dice recovery if they were going to take advantage of that option.

Thaliss concentrates and raises his staff as his eyes glow with arcane power. The soil on the ground begins to move, and a pit appears in front of the remaining gargoyle statue. The pit grows and grows, and becomes quite deep.

OOC: Since no one seems to object, Thaliss will cast mold earth repeatedly so the remainning gargoyle statue ends up 10 feet under ground level. He will cast so the area in front of the statue is escavated, and so the statue tips over in the pit. If nothing unexpected happens, he will cast the spell again until it is completely burried and the ground becomes smooth again.

Thaliss then proceeds to follow Tolan.

OOC: Callooh Callay!

Thaliss used the mold earth cantrip to shred and shift the earth under the gargoyle for a few seconds displacing enough earth to "bury" the statue. As he does so, eventually the thing is covered to its neck... and then the soft earth below it starts to shift and sag. A sound like cracking ice on a pond being shattered by a three ton boulder being dropped through it "Crackooooms" through the surrounding citadel. The statue falls another 16 feet through a barrel vaulted ceiling in a chamber blow.

Immediately the door Tolan, Dent, and Damien waited at opens. A man covered in plates of stone looks out into the courtyard completely confused.

"In the name of Ogremach, what is going on here!"

Two heavily armored guards (identical features to the armor of the heavily armored character found at the shallow graves) stand behind him through the doorway. It's difficult to make out much more past that point.

[sblock=Thaliss]That hole you just dug caved in, and now you can see that roughly 8 feet below where you are standing is a large open area chiseled out under the rock. You can hear a faint low pitched moaning coming from the other side.[/sblock]

Thaliss takes a few steps forward and telepathically relay what he is seeing there seems to be a chamber underground beneath the statue, and I hear moaning. .
Thaliss then focuses his mind and gestures his staff, to try to hinder the priest actions for the fight that will likely come.

OOC: Moving to ak11 to be in range for telepathic communication to all party members, and to be in range of the priest for minor illusion. Thaliss is behind a statue for cover.
Cast minor illusion, of a floating velvet bag around the priest's head. The goal is to force him to use his action to interact with the illusion, giving our front liners an advantage.

OOC: I'm inclined to give him the perception check for free on that on his turn, as there's no way to not interact with that, among other reasons. I guess it would still work to provide whoever hits him first with advantage, but I would say he would even get a reaction right after that to notice the illusion the first time in the round. Do you still want to do that?

OOC: Just a note, the physical interaction and the INT check are two different things. Physical interaction automatically grants disbelief. The INT check is specifically for examining the illusion (using senses other than touch, since that's already covered) and probably intended to be from a distance. Otherwise, Minor Illusion gets extremely out of hand. When a cantrip replicates the effects of 2nd level spells (and potentially does a better job of it), there might be a problem.

OOC: I think it's reasonable to cast it just before someone else would attack to provide advantage for that attack, akin to a ranged help action.
