Damien grumbled in frustration. Who locks doors when you've got three minotaurs guarding the front door?

Dent stood rear guard, watching the group's flank against intrusion.

 

[Creamsteak]

Straw mats cover the floor of this large exercise room, and wooden racks along the walls hold quarterstaffs, polearms, and various weapons commonly associated with martial arts. Doors exit to the north and the east. A triangular symbol is carved into the center of the room's western wall.

Six Sacred Stone Monks and a tall woman wearing a strange mask that covers her eyes appear to be in the room. They were sparring. As soon as the door opens, they all turn towards you. The woman speaks.

"You are the harriers that killed Qarbo, are you not? And you return to my sanctum? What do you seek here in the halls of the Sacred Stone? What do you think to find?"

OOC: I wish we could respond with a fireball.

Tolan shrugs, seeing no reason for further attempts at subterfuge or diplomacy.

"We seek the prisoners your monks took from the Mirabese carvan that was ambushed on the road from Beliard, and the item they were transporting. We think to find what survivors may still be here, or evidence of their ultimate fate. Qarbo saw fit to weave a tale of deceit and then attempted to lure us into a trap. This entire building stinks of treachery, lies and darkness.

We bring light.

Where are the Mirabese delegates? Where is the mote of elemental earth?"

"Your captives," said Aridha gruffly. "And answers. More or less in that order."

I just want to see something killed! Archandros responded to the woman in Damien's head. The warlock wisely decided not to share his pact master's thoughts.

 

[Creamsteak]

"You meddle with the prophets wishes. Prepare to die."

OOC: Rolled initiative. Monks act first.

The monks swarm the party. Hellenrae lands one attack on Tolan for 5 damage. Tolan is stunned until the end of Hellenrae's next turn.

The remaining 5 monks that can reach anyone land one attack on Dent and one attack on Damien respectively for 4 damage each.

Damien sheathed himself in infernal ice and drew his dagger. He then pretended to flee in terror, attempting to draw attacks from the monks, before returning to his position.
