D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Storm King's Thunder: Triboar

Creamsteak

Explorer
One bolt hits the bird.

The axe-beak and non-darkness'd orog attack Uric. None of the attacks seem to land. The three orog's in the darkness get angry and howly and attempt to attack things around them. Nothing seems to find Gul's body.

Parties actions.

~ Koldan did not relent, continuing to plug away between the gaps in the fence. Uric was going to get through and finish off those giants, and some monstrous ostrich and its friend were not going to stop their efforts to save Triboar. ~

Ducking underneath the massive axes as the orcs flailed wildly in the dark, Gul moved unseen to a position where he could catch as many of the monsters as possible as he tapped once more into the Weave and produced an eruption of flaming doom from the tips of his fingers!!

Having done so, he moved next to the giants, carefully avoiding the area of grease, and cast a curious glance over their possessions.

OOC:
Note: Gul will cast Shield with a warlock slot as a reaction if he is hit by an attack (+5 to AC)

Move: DV133
Action: Cast burning hands, Dex save DC 14 please. [roll0]
Move: DX133. If not possible to avoid grease area then will stay at DV133

How did they know where to dig for that object they retreived?

Narth Tezrin

At the top of the tower, Narth watched the crossbowman take down the axebeak. The combatants were still too far away for his hand crossbow, so he moved across to the other side of the tower, and then to the west side, carefully looking to see if there was any sign of the return of the city guard; or, for that matter, any sign of monstrous reinforcements...

First Post
Uric growls in satisfaction as the orog attacked instead of running and slashes at it and the axe-beak bird laughing as he does so.

Othovir creeps up to the corner and seeing the orogs outside the shadow squawks in alarm and readies his spells if the get closer...

OOC: Uric attacks the orog and the axe-beak. First [roll0] on orog, if he hits, [roll1], second [roll2] on the axe-beak, if he hits, [roll3]. Is the orc rider dead? I am not sure. If it is dead, Uric is going to move up towards the shadow to DU136, avoiding OA due to Mobility.

Othovir moves forward to Dl129 and takes a Ready action to attack the orog with Thurderwave if they move to within melee with him. Range 15ft cube out from self, Constitution save or take [roll4] thunder damage and be pushed back 10ft. Save half damage and not pushed.

Uric finishes off the bird, rider, and orog.

The party is able to mop up the remaining Orogs. Reinforcements seem to be on the way back from the south, 12 armed riders.

They arrive to where the party is while the giants are still hypnotized.

What do you all want to do?

OOC: At this point, getting out of combat, most of what was left was a mop up other than the giants, but I want to move forward. The biggest question is whether you're going to try to fight them, or do something else.

Gul takes his chance, while the giants are still hypnotised, to grab the strange metal rod.

OOC:
I'm guessing that that won't break the spell, as no damage is inflicted.

I also guess the thing they dug up is far to heavy for a single person to move?! Are there any carts around that it could be loaded onto?

Seeing the reinforcements arrive, he let the darkness spell drop, so that everyone could see clearly, and moved so that there were several other people between him and the giants. "Being the ornery sort, I'd like to see that big thing put on a cart and transported away before they regain their senses! Of course, that might just provoke them..I do have a suggestion spell, can't guarantee that would work on them but could possibly get them to tell us what it is and why they want it?"
