D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Storm King's Thunder: Waterdeep

Praying to the gods that his tactic would be effective, Gul continued to run forward, moving to the side of a troll in order within range of the female giant!

"Since trolls make poor servants, I suggest that you cast aside that sword and use your own hands to find that piece of the Vonindod which you seek!"

OOC:
Move: E37
Action: cast suggestion on female fire giant. Wisdom save DC15 please.

Note: Gul will cast Shield with a warlock slot as a reaction if he is hit by an attack (+5 to AC)

Trying to stay one step ahead of the pack of trolls is occupying all of Bellalalalalinda's thoughts, and Whistler's efforts. While she had hoped to pick up a dropped sword, it is unlikely that she will be able to do so.

They continue to run.

OOC: Shifting a bit to Theatre of the Mind, I think to ensure that the trolls do not catch her, she's going to have to continue to Move+Dash. Ideally, they could run rings around the pack, or spit up and go in two directions, and it's possible that her knowledge of giant kind tells her there's an effective way to do that, tangling up the chains that bind them. But I do not think it is realistic for her to dive in amongst their number if she sees the sword drop and realistically expect to get out alive. I'm open to being corrected! :D

Gul's words somehow ring true in the mind of the giantess who drops what she's holding.

The trolls around her gawk a bit confused.

Bell manages to take advantage of the confusion and grabs the giant greatsword which oddly re-sizes itself to be handled by a gnome. Some of the trolls look at her with fear, others point and laugh.

Two players still have actions.

OOC: I'm waiting to see what Davaros will do. If he disengages and heads toward Gul/Bell, I will too. Otherwise, heading his way to help fight..

OOC: Indeed! Wish I could make it to Davaros this turn for Guidance, but given the trolls' current circumstances, I can't imagine they'll need much persuading.:)

No one is more surprised than Bellalalalalalinda when Whistler turns around and darts in amongst all of the approaching trolls. The gorilla whizzes by, as the trolls turn and face her, like twisted trees in a strong wind, bowing as if to break.

But Whistler has seen the sword, lying on the ground, and that is his target. The small gnome takes a fistful of matted fur on the scruff of Whistler's neck, a handhold as she leans out, and down, to scoop up the blade. The gorilla slows, and as her hand makes contact the sword diminishes and fits into her hand.

She laughs. She had not expected this. And the sound of her laughter rings out behind her as she rights herself onto her gorilla, galumphing over the field, leaving the confused trolls in their dust.

OOC: catching up from my vacation...

Davaros's holds steadfast. Honor requires that he keeps fighting, for his companions.
He strikes at the giant again, praying to the gods that they will guide his blade.

He again says to the captive tolls. "I am not your ennemy! Fight the giant and earn your freedom"

Davaros finally lands an attack against the giant and the creature suddenly cowers.

Hanz and Franz gesture towards the gnome riding away with the flaming blade. The two trolls nearest them turn and look and then start laughing.

The chain gang turns like a hungry mob on the giantess without her weapon and all viciously start tearing her apart.

The remaining giant turns to flee, leaving himself open to multiple attacks from Davaros and the trolls.

Does the party want to attempt to spare these giants in any way, because otherwise they're likely to just be murdered by numbers here shortly?
