People are loudly arguing and Oswald is too preoccupied with what's going on in the kitchen to stop the argument from escalating.
Meanwhile, Stratus opens the door as Benny places a fog down. Striding in, Stratus has to duck his head to pass through the door. Caer, Deidre, Benny and Havoc follow suit. Anson closes the door behind them.
It takes a moment for your brain to tell you the fog truly isn't real before you can see the scene in the kitchen.
The room is about twenty five feet by twenty feet with a door leading outside on the far side.
Things look a bit disheveled: There is the usual accouterments of a fully stocked kitchen but there are several pots and pans and broken plates lying on the ground. Flour is strewn across a table and half-spilled on the floor. More alarmingly, there is a large sack of potatoes sitting on the stove. Thankfully, you realize, the fire in the stove isn't lit, otherwise zombies would be the least of your concerns.
In one corner, a very large and portly human is wearing an apron. He has his back to you and is chopping cabbage with a large butcher knife. On the opposite side of the room, a very small halfling wearing a chef's hat is decorating pastries.
This seems like normal kitchen behavior until you notice that the man is chopping the cabbage with such angry violence that he is smashing it to a pulp and sending cabbage bits flying everywhere. The halfling, is actually squeezing icing out of the pastries and then crushing them in her fists, watching the icing fall to the floor... - It's kind of like reverse decorating.
Everyone make stealth checks: DC 9 to see if they notice you standing in the fog. If not, you get surprise (I will have to look up the surprise rules)
another crappy roll! Stealth dc 15: 6 fail
Note that my intent is for the illusory fog is that it’s thick - the goal is for the party to be unseen (no line of sight)
Benny, in his excitement, chants the arcarne words of his spell a bit too loudly.
