Holy Hammer
@Neurotic your double move was the round before
Your first attack brought it to 3 hp, your second attack missed and 3rd attack kills it. It failed a DC 16 Con save.
COMBAT OVER!

Current Threat Level 3/8

The undead shop keeper falls to the ground with a heavy thud as metal armour reverberates in the room. For a moment, everything is quiet except for your heavy breathing as you all catch your breath but then, at the bottom of the stairs outside the open door, you hear snuffling. It's one of those undead dogs. It doesn't seem like it knows you're there yet but is trying to pick up the scent of the living. What do you do?

@Steve Gorak . if Max is scouting, he too has to make a stealth check. Also, your detect magic has worn out. This happens before you leave the last shop. You can recast but if you do it as a ritual, it takes more time...which means I will roll on random encounter table because you were just under the timing for a random encounter. Let me know what you do.
Also, if you want to use your silent image, you will need to cast it before you leave the shop and concentrate on it. The casting has verbal components and will attract attention.

@Lidgar Reminder: casting guidance BEFORE leaving the shop is fine but casting it in the market will draw attention

As you move along the streets, and go to pass the first alley, you see a strange sight: What you think are two zombies attacking a person and you're about to step in to help them when you realize quickly that it's actually three zombies. Two are beating on a third. The two are dressed roughly and wearing red scarves around their necks, punching on the third, who is an old man lying on the ground shielding himself. Finally, one of the 'thugs' reaches down and takes a money purse from the old man. Then they stand there. It's obvious that these two were mugging someone in the side alley at the moment the comet hit. Eventually, the thug, standing there, drops the pouch. The old man moves and picks it up, then stands to leave and the whole scene repeats itself. It looks like the money pouch is heavy with riches...

As you get closer to Cures and Curiosities, you notice three chickens pecking nearby in the market. They have white eyes are are pecking at the dead bodies. It will be difficult to pass by them but not impossible to sneak past. What do you want to do? They're just chickens, right? How dangerous could they be?

The Mugging Scene: If you want to go back and deal with that before the chickens, just post about it. Or you can just walk by.

Chickens: You will need a stealth DC 15 to sneak by. Or, if you have a different way to deal with them, let me know. You figure they're easy to kill but unless you have a quiet way of doing that, there are many other zombies nearby.

HOLY HAMMER
Caer Droea looks down at the mangled mass of meat and metal at his feet with grim satisfaction, before raising his eyes to catch the attention of Stratus and Havoc. In his quietest whisper, Caer addresses them while putting his cowl back into place.

You have my gratitude, and a debt I will carry always. Now, I suggest securing this room before securing the rest of the area.

OOC:
Caer looks carefully around the room, moving slightly and lightly on his feet only as necessary, attempting to see if anything is unusual, different, or out of the ordinary.

Perception: 1D20+7 = [15]+7 = 22

Note to others- Caer will not be examining the corpse, as he is singularly uninterested in closer contact with the metal.

Benny gestures and holds the arcane crystal around his neck. His companions can hear his whippers. He alternates between the two. "You can whisper back, no one will hear us. I can try appearing as a zombie and see if the chickens will let me pass. Once inside, I can cast an illusory fog around you, and you can come unseen. Do you want to try?"

OOC: Max is currently on Benny's shoulder, so no scouting yet.
Benny casts Message (somatic and material components only) to have a silent conversation.

Stratus shut the door and got out his healer's kit. Without saying a word, he gestured for Caer to hold still and let him bind his wounds.

OOC: It's (somewhat ridiculously) only an Action, and Caer can spend a Hit Die and regain an additional 2 HP.

Holy Hammer

The creature outside stops its sniffling and growls, running up the stairs. Scratching on the door, it howls.

It looks like you’re safe for now but you aren’t sure how much attention that dog will attract or if it will just get bored.

Looking in the dining room, there’s nothing interesting other than some mid range silverware. In the next room is a bedroom and, next to that, is a workshop.

The main store has many weapons and armour. The, now dead, proprietor has a ruined set of half plate. You could salvage the breast plate, though. It might need some cleaning from all the blood spilled on it.

What draws Havoc’s attention is the worshipper of Kord is the fine, spiked gauntlets he’s wearing.

Back in the back room Stratus has a chance to look at the giant hammer. He realizes that it is, literally, a warhammer of a giant. Standing at 12 feet long, it’s Impossible to Weild. What catches Stratus’ eye is a blue gem in the centre of the maul, in the shape of the Skylord’s symbol.

Okay, you are fine for now. Nothing can get in and you can search the place. I’ll be making periodic perception checks to see if more zombies arrive. Also I’ll check to see if the dog gets bored. 10 minute intervals.

Your first 10 minutes is spent looking around to find the following:

You can grab around 100gp in “goods” if you spend the whole 10minutes looting. Or 15gp if you just grab stuff as you are looking for other things.

Available is any weapon from PHB

Any armour of 200gp or less. Except with an extra 10 minutes, you can salvage a breast plate from the ruined armour.

@FitzTheRuke history, arcana, perception or religion. To study the hammer more closely.

Also, grab any shield. None have a holy symbol on them. Except for Kord. Several have that.

@Neurotic these gauntlets are +1 damage. They have another property as well but you don’t know what.

After grabbing a shield with the symbol of Kord (it would not hurt to have the blessing of the Storm), Stratus looked at the hammer. He was certain that he ought to know who's it was, or a story that spoke of its might, but he just couldn't recall. He thought it curious how it had wound up here, of all places. He tried to lift it down, to see if he could, perhaps, pry the symbol out of it.

Caer graciously accepts the ministrations of Stratus, then assists him in removing the blue gem.

OOC:
Using average (6) + 2 = 8hp added to stat sheet above. No interest in the weapons or armor. Will use help action, if needed, to help Straus remove the gem.

Do you want to let the zombie dog in and kill it, or go to another place and avoid the combat?
