Stratus decided that he'd spent too much of his efforts defending others and not quite enough defending himself as the skeleton stabbed him twice in his leg before he could get his shield around.

He glanced over his shoulder and saw that the brazier was not yet lighting, and that Benny was without his celestial companion. He'd had quite enough and he brought his blade down hard on a skeleton's head, cleaving it in two.

"You got this, he said to Havok as he strode northward, heading for the steps up to where Benny was valiantly defending.

OOC: It's a bit of a waste, but I'll SMITE skelly7 for 29 damage and head for E15.

Stratus came up behind a zombie and hacked into its back with his longsword.

OOC: Woohoo! I just saw that I missed R3. He Hit AC 23 for 8 slashing! Oh, and if earlier I missed a chance to Intercept some damage, I rolled terribly, but he intercepted 4 points worth.

Undead are dropping left and right.

Benny puts up a wall and the zombie is confused and, instead, attacks Stratus.

The remaining zombie and skeleton attack but both warriors manage to deflect it all like true veterans.

Frustratingly, despite sparks flying, the brazier doesn't light.

No longer surrounded and at Caer's urging, Deirdre and the sword of force moved towards the others. Sahandrian attacked a skeleton still engaged with Havok and struck hard, while Deirdre called divine fire at one of the zombies that were now engaged with Stratus. Beyond him, she saw a wall that she assumed was summoned by the child. It blocked her view of the brazier - she prayed it would light soon.

OOC: Deirdre will use a bonus action to move the spiritual weapon to H7 to attack Skeleton #5. She moves to I9 and cast Sacred Flame on Zombie #2.
Spiritual Weapon (force damage): 1D20+5 = [17]+5 = 22
1D8+3 = [5]+3 = 8
Sacred Flame (radiant damage, DC 13 Dex Save): 1D8 = [1] = 1
Woof.

OOC: Wee Jas statue with a key...what key? Is this something that can be taken? Havoc cannot attack zombies because he is too far, but can get to the statue

Havoc moves toward melee, but his short legs need to work hard to catch up. He looks at the statue of the goddess and nods
"We'll get rid of these pests for you."

Move: G12 to check the statue
Action: either take the key or Dash to E14

1. Zombies take 9 damage each.

The illusion going away is more of a description. The zombies haven't interacted with it. THey're more concerned with Stratus anyways.

As Deidre moves forward, Anson strikes the sticks a final time and there's a burst of energy and the entire cathedral explodes with glorious light. It penetrates Benny's walls, revealing it as the illusion it is.1 Instantly, the last of the zombies are scorched with sacred fire. They scream in pain and fear.

Havoc moves to the statue. Both Anson and Benny had seen the strange scales that Wee Jas was holding but didn't have time to inspect it. The scales - depicting balance - are askew. A large brass key is set into the wall beneath the symbol.
