(IC) Dog Days of Doom!

Havoc will try and finish the zombie that follows them before retreating.

OOC: Sorry I skipped a day, went out with friends after beach and came home very late. He would've helped the merchant, if for no other reason than to have extra distraction

The Gate / Temple Street (Alertness 8/8)

Finishing off the zombies, you can hear the rats coming closer but you also notice that other zombies are converging on the area. At the end of Temple Street, Caer, Stratus and Havoc are met with a large, Barred gate inset into a ten foot thick, twenty foot high wall. Beyond is the Temple. The merchant is there looking around, trying to figure out how to get through.

"Bloody hell, they locked the gate. Well, while I appreciate the rescue, it looks like we're screwed."

Newt starts crying at that proclamation. At least you're safe from the rats...for now.

****
As Benny, Anson and Deidre use the buildings to circumvent most of the market, you can see that something has riled up the zombies and many are making their way towards Temple Street. As you lower yourselves down on the street, you can see the others at the gate, in the distance.

Behind you, you see a bizarre thing. Zombie chickens have latched onto several shambling zombies. They are sucking the mostly-still-fluid blood of the fresh zombies as the zombies make their way towards you. The chicken-laden zombies see you and start coming your way with greater speed.

You avoided the rats

So, I rolled a really bizarre combination of encounters: 5 zombie chickens and 4 zombies.... so...I guess you're fighting: Chicken-zombie-zombies.

@FitzTheRuke @Neurotic @Snarf Zagyg Are at the gate.
Gate is DC 20 Break or DC 15 Pick locks
If you can somehow get over the wall (20 feet high +10 wide), you can just pull out the chain and bar.

*You have 2 round before the others meet you at the gate. 3 rounds before the zombies get to the gate.

@Kobold Stew @Lidgar @Steve Gorak

The zombies are 1 round behind you. (2 rounds from the gate)

I'll post a map soon.

*Edited the distances

Made a mistake - Potion gang is 2 rounds away (around 120 feet)
Zombies are 3 rounds away from gate. (160 feet)

I reused another map to make the gate...sorry for the laziness...

Caer sees the gate in front of them. If only Anson was with with us. I remember that he once told me he had the skills to deal with locks. Caer shook his head and looked at his companions, noticing that both Stratus and Havoc were muscular. An idea came to him.

We cannot force the gate; if we do, then our pursuers will get through it as well. I will use the Blackstaff as a step for you so that you can climb up and over and let us through. Fear not, it will not break under your weight, as it is a gifted piece of the Raven's tree.

Caer holds the Blackstaff level, waiting.

Okay, I think that the best plan is for Stratus to climb over (athletics check) to let us in. Havoc can also assist by using his strength to help me lift the Blackstaff with Stratus on it as high as possible before he commences climbing.

Help action will give Stratus advantage on the athletics check to climb up and over.

Anson sees the chicken zombies begin their pursuit, and he looks at Dierdre and Benny. "If we can get high, we should be able to handle them safely," he says, ready to make a quick call when he sees how they respond to the fight-or-flight option.

OOC: Anson is innately protective of others, and in his mind there are three outcomes here. With two rounds, he could (a) Help each of the others get onto a roof (best option; or the market stall shade with the captain's wheel), but he'd still be on the ground. We could (b) sprint, gains dome distance, but Anson doesn't know the others are just further down at the gate, and that seems less certain. I think (c) Anson could get himself onto the roof (again) and fire from there, with Dierdre and Benny looing after themselves. All this assuming the zombies can't climb -- we've seen no evidence they can.

(a) (b) or (c)?

OOC: @Kobold Stew if it makes a difference, you can see the others standing at the gate trying to climb over.

You just came down from some buildings surrounding the market. The buildings on this street are a bit more sparse.

There’s a tall, 30 foot wall on one side of the street. Although it may be tricky to climb

OOC: Havoc is lower in height, but he can
Push really hard upward and maybe give stratus extra height by "tossing" him. The reverse doesn't work because as we all know "nobody tosses a dwarf!"
