(IC) Dog Days of Doom!

HOLY HAMMER

Pulling the Maul down would be a fair bit of work as it seemed to be permanently mounted there. Being tall, you can easily reach the gem but Prying it free seems tricky. Like it requires respect first.

Stratus prayed to Stronmaus, asking that He be gracious in allowing the Gem to be removed from the Great Maul, in this hour of need.

OOC: Unfortunately, my dice are being cruel. I got a 5 WIS religion check

The Holy Hammer

As you speak the prayer, the words seem to swirl inside the gem and it falls into Stratus' hand.

It has a bracket behind it that, if you look closely, move like tendrils. . Someone large and strong once wielded that maul and you feel like the gem has found a new home instead of being a trophy in a weapons shop.

You think you could attach it to something

To remove it, you needed to say a prayer to Stronmaus. (sorry, I forgot your god's name in my last post)

I don't know what the item is called but it's a "foci"/holy symbol that can be attached to a sword or shield and frees up your off hand for spell casting.

"We should deal with the dog. If I open the door and grab it, you should be able to maul it to death...again...before it can attack."
Havoc is looking over the breastplate of a much bigger human deciding if this can be better than his own. But the gauntlets...without much thinking, he places his own in the backpack and cleans priests gauntlets for his own use.
"I'll need to properly clean these, it will be icky right now. Is there water here? Just to wash them out? Maybe you have some magic to do it quickly?"

OOC: First 10 minutes is exploration apparently. I think we should ready actions and get the dog. either we all attack with readied actions or I grab it with mine and you attack with advantage. And then hopefully we win initiative and repeat the process :)

If gauntlets aren't literally dripping with zombie flesh from the inside (and no one uses prestidigitation) he equips them after quick rinse. If they are full of skin and flesh, I wouldn't risk it. But I'll take them.

I'd take another 10 minutes for the armor - but not risking extra zombies if we don't have to.

Market

The group hesitates and the chickens seem to be aware that something is amiss

2 things:
1. @Steve Gorak the chickens are feeding on the fresh bodies of the dead. Who knows if these chickens killed a zombie or a person but they seem more interested in the flesh. They seem to be acting differently than a typical zombie you’ve seen and You aren’t sure if your disguise will deter them.

2. @Kobold Stew @Lidgar You guys need to decide what to do or you will be discovered.

HOLY HAMMER

Caer stands ready with the Blackstaff, ready to strike at the unfortunate corrupted cur when the door opens

OOC:
Notice I forgot to subtract HD for medical ministrations; updated. Ready to attack.

Holy Hammer

The dog is snuffling at the door, the team readies to open and grab it.

Smelling the living through the door, the dog howls loudly, piercing the quiet of the twilight. The howl is ear shattering.

Havoc reaches out, grabs the pup, drags it in and the three beat it until it moves no longer.

You can make a stealth DC 17. Failing that, succeed on initiative: DC 22. If you succeed, you kill it.

If you fail, you all take 3 psychic damage.

It doesn't have a tonne of HP and you guys would have to all roll really badly to not kill it. And I rolled perception for the zombies but, it seems, there isn't any zombies close enough to care.

See my awesome (and horrible) rolls below.

Perception; 2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [4, 14]+3 = 17
Initiative; 1D20+2 = [20]+2 = 22
Perception zombies Vs DC 9: 1D20 = [5] = 5

Sonic Damage: 1D4+1 = [2]+1 = 3
