"Maybe it is" Naeris heads over to one if the sofas and flicks through the book. "I can't help but feel like something bad is going to happen" Naeris mumbles.

The last 50% of the books pages are incomplete, and it appears to be mostly full of handwriting and sketches, though fairly good sketches. It's written in common.

The 18th to last entry is the bow.

[sblock=Compendium]Origin: The Unseelie Court, the Lord Kalaynr

Kalanyr had been serving some sort of fey queen that wished to reinstate her power on the mortal worlds in a place they referred to as the stolen lands. There were also forces from the plane of shadow working against both the mortals and the fey. Killing Kalanyr seems to have destabilized his particular planar domain, crashing the warren completely. This was recovered by one of my expeditionary forces, a decent memento still instilled with much of the original owners personality. I suspect his death drew a great deal of immediate attention from the unmaker. Power draws power.

Perhaps it can be used with one of the guardians, but I know none that would be able to completely resist the pride of the soul trapped within.[/sblock]

"No body touch anything!"Naeris shouts as he leaps up from the sofa. "Something is greatly amis here. It would appear whomever resides here has been gathering these artifacts and cataloging them" Naeris will inspect the rest of the book. Looking for other objects from the room in the book. Once satisfied he will pass it on.

OOC: history check to see if naeris knows anything of this Kalanyr [roll0]

Koregar has been standing back, not having anything to crush, maim, or destroy at the moment. For some reason, he can't take his eyes off the book of vile darkness. It doesn't match the description of the old stories that everyone knows about such a book, but that isn't saying much.

He inches his way closer to it, not sure why it's captured his interest other than it potentially being an artifact of great power. If it is what it says it is.

"Do not touch it, Dwarf!"

OOC: I'm not going to ready it because I don't want to waste the spell slot but if he is going for the book I'm casting sleep to stop him

Koregar eyes the wizard and steps away from the bookcase. "What else are we gonna do in here? May as well see what this stuff does. Hey elf, why don't you go open one of those trunks? See what's inside."

Siljar: "The trunks are trapped, most definitely. You should be patient while I assess what is safe and what is useful."

OOC: Is Siljar aware enough of glyphs and other magical traps to tell the halfling she can disarm them?
