intercom :: One minute to touchdown. We have sensor reading of something fairly massive point zero. Some sort of structure, possible extending underground as wll. Multiple life signs. No sign of hostile response. Coming into visual range. Looks like we have another ship wreck. Patching though images. Holding approach. ::
The HoloDis flickers, and a green tinged image of the landing ground appears. Dominating the centre of the image is the remains of an old spaceship, half buried in a massive sand dune. The front of the ship is completely covered, only the part of the rear of it can be seen. Most of the outer covering is gone, either stripped away by whatever brought the ship down, or by the elements since. What remains, at least of that which can be seen, is just the skeleton of the ship. One engine lies exposed, thrusting out of the sand. Its hard to say exactly, but more than likely a good half of the ship remains covered by the dune.
There are no signs of movement around the ship, and little else of note. But the image is fairly low resolution.
intercom :: 45 seconds to touchdown. Grab your gear, its about to get breezy. ::
The shuttle begins to vibrate more violently as the pilot begins to slow the decent. It creaks and groans as the lower wings are raised.
intercom :: Opening main door now. I'm not putting her down, so watch your step at the bottom of the ramp. ::
A cool draft grows into a freezing blast as the main door opens, fading away as the shuttle comes to a halt a couple of meters off the ground. It rocks gently. The ramps clangs into the lowered position, a couple of feet off the the ground.
Outside the world is grey in the moonlight. The space hulk looms dark and large about 70 feet in front of the shuttle.
