inter-com :: "Three minutes to touchdown. Multiple life sign readings 35 kilo from designated landing site, vector 240* from zero. Holding approach." ::

[sblock=ooc]If you imagine the landing site the centre of a clock, the shuttle is approaching from 6 o'clock, vector 240 is around 8 o'clock from the landing site. Or, in other words, off to the left of the shuttle's approach path.

Last chance to give the pilot tactical instructions. Otherwise the crew will put the shuttle down on the button then bail out.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Wait a minute, are you telling me the shuttle crew weren't in on the same tactical circuit as we were for some reason while we were planning what we were doing, or they're waiting for some direct order of some variety before they alter their instructions?[/sblock]

intercom :: One minute to touchdown. We have sensor reading of something fairly massive point zero. Some sort of structure, possible extending underground as wll. Multiple life signs. No sign of hostile response. Coming into visual range. Looks like we have another ship wreck. Patching though images. Holding approach. ::

The HoloDis flickers, and a green tinged image of the landing ground appears. Dominating the centre of the image is the remains of an old spaceship, half buried in a massive sand dune. The front of the ship is completely covered, only the part of the rear of it can be seen. Most of the outer covering is gone, either stripped away by whatever brought the ship down, or by the elements since. What remains, at least of that which can be seen, is just the skeleton of the ship. One engine lies exposed, thrusting out of the sand. Its hard to say exactly, but more than likely a good half of the ship remains covered by the dune.

There are no signs of movement around the ship, and little else of note. But the image is fairly low resolution.

intercom :: 45 seconds to touchdown. Grab your gear, its about to get breezy. ::

The shuttle begins to vibrate more violently as the pilot begins to slow the decent. It creaks and groans as the lower wings are raised.

intercom :: Opening main door now. I'm not putting her down, so watch your step at the bottom of the ramp. ::

A cool draft grows into a freezing blast as the main door opens, fading away as the shuttle comes to a halt a couple of meters off the ground. It rocks gently. The ramps clangs into the lowered position, a couple of feet off the the ground.

Outside the world is grey in the moonlight. The space hulk looms dark and large about 70 feet in front of the shuttle.

Private Holser double times it down the ramp, watching for the last step. As soon as he's down, he heads for the nearest dune to hunker down and get a good long look at the terrain and where he needs to be.

The ground underfoot is soft and sandy. Up ahead, towards the hulk of the wrecked ship, the sand has been kicked up and scuffed, destroying the regular pattern of small ripples that characterises the virgin sands.
Ahead of the shuttle the land rises up like a huge wave. Likewise it does so behind the shuttle. The is little in the way of cover. Vegetation is non-existant. About twenty feet from the hulk there is a body. At first it looks like a rock. But slowly the details emerge to reveal it to be a body of a humanoid, wrapped in a heavy dark cloak.

No movement can be seen from from within the hulk through the gaping hole in its side. But then the guts of the hulk are wrapped closely in dark shadow. The reddish moon light does little more than outline the exposed frames and girders. From what can be seen, the hulk looks like the remains of a fairly sizeable ship - a freighter of some sort probably.

With blaster rifle out and held close to the body, Vax will move stealthily toward the ship, scanning for any hidden watchers, cameras or droids.

Qira focuses.

[sblock=Qira]The body on the ground between the shuttle and the wreck is indeed dead. But not so long so. Life in various forms, continues within.

There are several living creatures inside the wreck. They are clustered around the middle of the hulk, but out of sight. Animals. Its hard to tell how many exactly. Their thoughts are all similar, without clear distinguishing identities. But there is upward of a dozen.

There are two 'people' on the hulk as well, deeper inside the wreck.[/sblock]

Vax moves forwards cautiously.

[sblock=ooc]Nifty skill. Never really read it carefully. But the book is not very helpful with regards to how the skill works exactly, which made it a little difficult to determine what it does and doesn't reveal. So I have gone for general physical layout and life forms with simple descriptors.[/sblock]
