"Don't be ridiculous," Ilsthyr replies, his voice still utterly expressionless. "I adhere strongly to the principal that knowledge is power, and I back that principal up through my actions by expanding my capacity to manifest my will entirely through my studies of the arcane arts. Yet even I can see the foolishness of sitting around reading at a time like this, where I still have no idea where I am and what danger I might be in. I understand that you clearly have some need to elevate yourself to some position of authority over this group, and I have no particular objection. I certainly don't covet such a position for myself. But I will not surrender my independence to you. The first lesson of leadership is that you must rule in your subjects interests, or they will not remain your subjects long. So bluster all you like, but I will not stay here."
Shrugging his bony shoulders slightly and with a glint of amusement in his eyes Scorns gazes at the stubborn Wizard and speaks "As you wish" turning to the others and speaking in a loud whisper "I guess it's true what they say about Wizard's! Tempremental and High Strung" Laughing at his own jest Scorn follows Treweye into the next room

Tel

The arguments of his fellows breaks through his cloud of mourning and rouses the elf from his stupour "Even if I am undead I am still an elf and still better than this rabble." he thinks "Pull it together Tel".

Standing the elf warrior quietly picks up its sword, it moves back to its 'birthing' stone and retrieves its remaining equipment. As the group of skeletons decide the next course of action the elf quickly readies itself for war. As it finishes it moves to take a position at the back of the group, sword drawn, its 'eyes' scouring the shadows for trouble.

Islthyr says nothing in response to Scorn's remark, finding it actually rather amusing but not really disposed to let that be generally known. He doesn't care much to defend himself from the accusations of being 'temperemental and highly strung' - they contain more than a grain of truth after all, and Ilsthyr doesn't make much of an effort to hide that. He's happy enough to let Scorn give way gracefully and save some face. As such the cloaked figure simply follows the group, taking up a position just in front of the elven warrior towards the rear.

"Well, if we're moving, let me near the front of this group. I'll try to see if I notice any signs of passing from whoever was here last... just don't muck up the trail, if there is one."

"Come along, Barnes,"
he says to his rat.

After examining the master's body (and perhaps supposedly not having found much of interest), Dust silently watches the other skeletons arguing and starting to leave the room. "What a bickering group. They're so much like they were still alive. How come that they don't see the pointlessness of their arguing?" Nonetheless, Dust feels that there must be some reason why this group of people is bound together by the dread circumstances, and quietly follows the others out of the room, keeping a back position.

Looking up from his examination to see the squabbling cluster of skeletons moving into the hall, Rothorm stands up to follow them.

Standing impatiently at the back of the group the elf warrior's hollow sounding voice seems to bounce off the walls "What is the hold up?" it booms in its slightly archaic lilt.

Examining your surroundings...

The room is a 60' x 60' square. The outer eleven tables are arranged as if at the points of a clock with one table (we'll call that position twelve for lack of a better term) missing from the clock. The central table is larger then the others. Behind the missing table is the single closed door (we'll call that direction north until we get a better frame of reference). The dead man slumped over the central table is indeed dead upon inspection. Examining his body you find no signs of trauma. His right hand was, it appears, clutched to his chest. There are a total of twelve books arrayed about the table. Two of which were actually open to specific pages. The man appeared to be in the process of mixing something up. There is a spilled ceremic flask clutched in his left hand. Several other containers are nearby and the balance of the table is arrayed in various alchemical supplies in various containers.

As far as the outer tables are concerned, the clock positions and skeletons go like this:

1. Telamar the Fighter
2. Mindless Skeleton
3. Treweye the Ranger
4. Brak the Barbarian
5. Rothorm the Monk
6. Cass the Rogue
7. Dust the Bard
8. Scorn the Cleric
9. Averey the Druid
10. Ilsthyr the Wizard
11. Joe the Sorcerer

Checking the door you find it to be securely locked. It is a well made wooden door and appears to be reinforced with metal.

The last skeleton appears to be a half-orc woman. She dons her chain shirt, attaches her mace and dagger to her belt, and grabs her longsword and shield. The sentience that has found the others is obviuosly absent in this one.
