Pathfinder 1E [IC] - TIDERULER OF MARAN

"We did what we were supposed to do, delayed and confused them. But running now, while we know there are those masked things around...Let's just hold our position until cavalry clears the area!"

The monk resumes defending stance, ready for some pain.

HAGADARK

The hunting party moves towards the shadows of the tower. They leave Hagadark to take point, as he discovers the perfect way through: a section of the tower has fallen down, creating a secluded path between the cliffs and the old construction. They make their way towards the planes beyond easily, listening to the distant sounds of the battle. They hope to leave the battlegrounds behind, but as soon as they arrive at the other side, they see even more conflict as it unfolds. A line of dwarven riders charge against a unity of confused, yet combative, saurian archers, and the saurians return the favor in kind, as their own mounted warriors charge against dwarven infantry. Smoke and fire rises from the lines, as cries of rage and agony fill the air of the night – a rather common sight wherever dwarves march. As they march further westwards, Hagadark studies the area, trying to uncover the whereabouts of his mark, only to discover, to his dismay, that it is enveloped in its own little war. At a distance, he sees a group of three being attacked by the fading shapes of small saurians, the likes of which he could never recognize. They seem to pop in and out of existence, as if they suddenly turned invisible or phased through another plane, clouded from mortal eyes. He mans the compass and confirms it: his mark is held by someone within that crowd. But who?

[Ok, you found them! Give it two rounds and you can arrive at the sight of the conflict, first one counting now!]

MORGRYM/MARIUS

The little imps receive strike, stone and arrow unintimidated. Their first wave, a group of four, leap forward against the trio, hissing draconic curses and hailing the power of their armies. Their hands, clutching around curved bone knives, gleam in the dark, and Morgrym realizes the things are coated in poison! They take swings against Marius and Morgrym, but the monk’s agility and the dwarf’s thick coat are enough to resist the attack! The beast attacking Marius flies by the monk, landing on all fours right behind him, as Morgrym’s opponent rasps his leather covers after shocking himself against the heavy dwarf, incapable of harming or moving the druid back.

Arvana is not so lucky, though. After striking one of the beasts, she evades a first attack only to be targeted by the second. Her right thigh bleeds copiously as she moans a curse in elfic. Her eyes roll back as if she was suddenly struck by hot winds under the sun.

“It… It BURNS!” – she yells, reaching for a second arrow, her visible features translating evident pain.

A second wave approaches, uncoated by mimesis. Marius is the first to see the blue kobolds, furious and horned like imps from the planes of hell, but as reptilian as their gaelian cousins. Six more, and they are unafraid.

[Oook, that’s the next turn!]

[Sorry for the absence! Exams all done and I can resume things to a normal pace! Every day I’ll be here, every two, tops, I’ll update!]

Last post for couple of days while traveling...I will do a full action for Marius and Hagadark (MetaVoid is on some tour or other in his parks) later tonight.

HAGADARK / MetaVoid

"They're there, in the middle of the conflict. The one we seek is one of those three surrounded by enemies. It will be bad if they are captured by snakes. We need to involve ourselves after all. Clear the area around them first, spread out in guard perimeter after. Subdue them if they resist, but DO NOT kill them. I will try to talk to them if I get a chance. Maybe they come with us by their own will."
Shaman points toward the group and after giving his instructions leads the party into the conflict.

MARIUS
OOC: Archon Basileus, did you account for +2 to AC from Bodyguard feat? Or was the creature too far?

Marius turns as the beast flies over his leg trailing high in the air. As he completes the turn, he axes with the leg downward the creature on all fours, the heel crashing into its spine. As it bounces back, he drops on the knee punching into the creature with whole body weight behind the swing.

"Six more coming, kobolds only. We need better cover so we can channel them toward us. Arvana, hold on! Keep close to me, I'll deflect the attacks I can reach."

[sblock=Actions]
Full attack: Flurry att 1; Flurry att 2; damage; damage: 1D20+5 = [18]+5 = 23
1D20+5 = [12]+5 = 17
1D6+6 = [1]+6 = 7
1D6+4 = [6]+4 = 10

Move: 5'step only if needed to stand by Arvana or stand between her and incoming creatures.

As the saurians roll in on them, Morgrym releases his sling and quickly draws his battleaxe, parrying with it. He hears Arvana take a hit.

HAGADARK

As the party moves towards their surrounded marks, a familiar shadow crosses the sky. Hagadark looks up as the faint silver nocturnal light is obliterated by the ominous shadow of a flying beast. Seconds later, the thundering sounds of its landing are heard, as screams of agony rise from the battlefields. The old dwarven war cry is heard there, as well as ahead, where the marks fight against the fading creatures. A few more steps, and yet another shadow is cast. This one, though, lingers, surrounding the area both orcs and marks occupy. The beast preys, and has its eyes set on them, apparently…

MORGRYM/MARIUS

[Yup, I did consider bodyguard! But a 20’s a 20, heheh!]

With quick moves, Marius breaks the small creature. As she falls, spitting blood in place of a cry, the second wave arrives, leaping forward, thirsting for blood! Two of them charge against the monk, showing great proficiency. Both of them move in unison, feinting and charging unexpectedly. The monk dodges the first one, stepping aside as it tries to pierce it’s stomach, but the second one profits from the movement and opens a cut on his hip!

[Talk about 20’s! 2 points of damage; roll fortitude against DC 13; if you fail, you’ll take a point of dex damage, and we’ll roll later for the next rounds; success eliminates the effects. The poison works like the Poison Weapon spell, in case you guys are curious.]

Furious, the creature Morgrym attacked responds, howling incomprehensible curses at him. Two more follow the first one, trying their best to stab the dwarf! One of the strikes slides against the hide, while Morgrym pushes the second one aside with his shield. His vindictive enemy, though, manages to scratch his face, a thin line of blood coming down from his cheek as he furiously fights.

[1 point of damage; roll fortitude against 13 as well to avoid 4 points of dex damage! Again, I’m considering Bodyguard bonuses!]

The attacks are renewed against Arvana, despite her efforts to retreat. The group will be surrounded soon. Four charge against them. As Marius attempts to protect his companions, he manages to elude two of the enemies, all the while Arvana shoots against them to no avail and tries to dodge their blows. The poison has weakened her quite a lot, both Morgrym and Marius can see it. Two enemies charge against her, slicing her face and chest with their daggers. Dizzied and confused she, steps back once more, looking over her shoulder to the elevation. “I need space!” – she cries, preparing another arrow.

As the enemy tides pressure on, the trio grows cold as a shadow looms over their heads, like a vulture searching for prey…

[Ok, I’m updating the map, so we can have a clearer vision of the battle, now! It’s oly a representation so far, since I still need you guys to position yourselves as you prefer. Notice that I have counted Arvana’s retreat already, and accounted for a few dead enemies.]
