OOC: One thing I forgot to mention...when you cast your protection from evil spells:

You feel a surge of magical energy flow through you...this is normal but this time it doesn't feel normal. It's like the magic has a consciousness all it's own, like it is trying to take control and manifest itself in its own way. The feeling takes you by surprise but you manage to control it.

People begin to stir and pack up gear for the trip. Others are slow to start, preferring to sleep or rest just a little longer. Then it begins...

First Topsy then Turvy, one moment they are smiling and behaving almost normally then Topsy becomes upset and they start arguing in their own language. Surana notices she can't understand them...she can't understand ANYONE who isn't speaking a language she can speak. Topsy begins laughing...then screaming uncontrollably. Turvy falls into a ball on the floor weeping and rocking. Surana turns to Drum, not understanding why he isn't speaking to her. He is lying on the floor, not moving. At first she thinks the worst but quickly checking, he still seems to be alive (you think). This goes on for several moments. No one is able to calm the gnomes down no matter what they do.

Then Shuushar begins to behave strangely. First he circles about the camp (okay...that's normal for him) but then he gets himself stuck in a corner formed by two rocks and he just stands there, frozen. He can't seem to see or react to anything.

Everyone is trying to quite the gnomes or figure out what is wrong with Drum or Shuushar. Sarith is growing increasingly angry. He starts cursing (you assume) in his own language. It becomes angrier and more and more incoherent until you realize he is not speaking any language at all but simply babbling nonsensically.

Then, as quickly as it started, it passes...Topsy and Turvy calm down. Drum "wakes up" Shuushar begins walking around in circles as if nothing happened and Sarith collapses as if he was struck down by a bolt of lightning. Everything is quiet as everyone stares at the drow wondering if he is okay and maybe a little afraid to check when he sits up and looks about and wonders aloud why everyone is staring at him. He, Shuushar, Topsy, Turvy and Drum all seem to have no recollection of any of it happening.

Surana instinctively places a hand on each hilt, leaving them there even after the madness has passed. She clenches her jaw as she looks in vain for the source of the surrounding light, frustrated by the sort of danger that can't be fought. Eventually she gives up, cursing as she releases her grip.

"We should move. These lights may not be worth the protection," she says brusquely, stuffing gear back in her pack.

OOC: Sound good to me too. I just want to clarify that this happened at the end of our long rest, right? It read like that to me, because it sounded like we were packing up and ready to leave when this happened.
