Bruno, the Iconic Fat Innkeeper! (Quote from one of my players: "Never trust a skinny innkeeper.. they're always up to no good.")

Luis, the Iconic Underage Pickpocket!

Poor Howard, the Iconic Ubiquitous Beggar!

Lady Danielle, the Iconic Snooty Princess!

Antwone, the Iconic Limp-Wristed Courtier!

Carrack, the Iconic Gruff-But-With-A-Heart-Of-Gold Blacksmith! (shaggy beard required, dwarf race optional)

Granny Lara, the Iconic Villiage Wisewoman!

I'd be happy to help. What kind of stats and skill spreads would be required? Would they all use the 15,14,13,12,10,8 stat block?

i think no. i think those stats are for heros. i would say stright 3d6, no changes, or maybe 12,10,10,10,10,8.

but maybe lower is better?

do what feels right. i can see a blacksmith being stronger and a bookbinder being smarter:)

I think perhaps I'll go with something like 15, 12, 10, 10, 10, 8. That'll give enough variation to allow for strong blacksmiths and smart bookbinders. People who are able enough to be good at what they do, but not exceptional enough to be adventurers.

What's this Iconic Bookbinder, Iconic Blacksmith nonsense?

There should be five.

The Iconic Adept.
The Iconic Aristocrat.
The Iconic Commoner.
The Iconic Expert.
The Iconic Warrior.

(Never figured out why we needed Tordek and Regdar anyway...)

i think most of these call out for multiple treatments. :)

Pretty cool idea, although i don't know how iconic they'd be. Seeing as they aren't likly to appear in the core rule books. ;)

As far as stats i think the suggested: 15, 12, 10, 10, 10, 8. Would work fine. It's not as good as the defalt array, but there's room for characters to shine in the fields they focus on.

Bah, I say :) It's not like we have an Iconic Charisma-Monkey Rogue, or an Iconic Mounted-Archery Fighter.

Higraf, the Iconic Expert, has ranks in (for example) Craft: Armorsmith and Profession: Fisherman. You want your books bound, go talk to a non-iconic.

Ate dinner, took out the trash...

And now I'm ready to start. I'm going to stat each one up at 3rd, 5th, and 8th levels. If you'd like to see them at any other levels, please let me know.

So far I have planned: Thoran Ironhand - Iconic Blacksmith (Male Dwarven Expert), Tanda Serpentstaff - Iconic Apothocary (Female Elven Adept), Quara Swiftblade - Iconic Guardsman (Female Human Warrior), and Arthur Peddington, Esq. - Iconic Politician (Male Human Aristocrat).

Suggestions for others?
