Ideas needed for 8th level adventure! [randomling OUT!]

My good friend randomling is going to be playing several hours of D&D with me on Saturday. She's got 4 8th level characters, and I'm looking for some interesting ideas about what they could do.

She has two Fighter 8's, a Cleric 8 and a Sorceror/Rogue (total level 8, can't remember the split). Now she's not too hot on tactics, so I don't want anything to taxing combat wise, but she's an excellent roleplayer.

I want the characters to really start to get close to becoming legends in the campaign world (one of my own devising), and this campaign is set 500 or so years before the main campaign, so feel free to suggest the beginnings of something fairly epic. Not end of the world style, but certainly end of the local area, say :D

So...any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

randomling does indeed play all four characters, this was set up initially rather on the spur of the moment...and four characters are a standard party, aren't they? :)

This is set in the history of the main campaign, so the metaplot isn't in place yet. I'm just trying to sort out some history of my campaign world, practise DMing higher level characters, and have some fun!

Hard!!

Maybe introduce some magic items or future religious Items.

With two fighters there should be some fighting?!

Form a church. Populate a dungeon ??

I really dont know

Is she planning on playing a major and three minor characters?

Wow, I am now in awe of her abilty to roleplay. I mean, as a DM we often have several characters at once, but 4? Each requiring the attention of a PC? wow.

I'd like some idea what the main campaign was like, but failing that....

I'd look for the name of a place in the current campaign world, a place you have meant to develop but may still be a mystery to your players. Then I would find a way of making Randomlings actions creat the events that gave that place its name.

Every good hero needs a villain, so first off you got to come up with a good nemesis for these four characters. Someone, who again has echoes of a similar villain in the current campaign.

This is a difficult question.

For the cleric, you could have an evil cleric who is stealing people's organs out of their bodies to create a flesh golem.
On a non-clerical route, you could have the party track a strange disturber of the peace who uses his phenomenal jumping ability and his fire-breathing powers to cause havoc. (Just a little Spring-Heel Jack for ya).

Demiurge out.
