Ideas needed for relic

Driddle

First Post
I'm familiar with the traditional myths surrounding the relic, but I'm looking for creative alternatives, modern or fantasy.

Ever build any adventures around the Spare of Density?

Sphere of Density, perhaps? Either way I'm not recognizing it. But it'd be fun to make a legend for it anyways.

What, if anything, do you have so far?

Spear of Destiny, I guess. Though honestly, I don't know much about it. See me again once I "wikied" it :) (strange, shouldn't I have written "googled"?)

Spare of Density would be way cooler

Fitting the spear than Longinus used to pierce the abdomen of Jesus Christ (if you are, indeed, talking about the Spear of Destiny) into a fantasy campaign will be next to impossible, unless you start substituting imaginary mythic figures for real world religious icons. Working this into a modern campaign is much more doable (in fact, IIRC, Steve Jackson Games has already done it with an entry for Longinus in GURPS Villains).

quite true but you could incorporate it by simply changing a bit of the DnD Mythos. Say it's a spear that Heironius' Champion stabbed Hextor with and give it all sort of good aligned properties. Or you could to it vice verse and say that someone like Hextor's champion or a servant of Orcus used it to pierce the side of some good god.

You could do worse than use the movie (and to a lesser extent source comic) of 'Constantine' for ideas.

Therein, the Spear of Destiny was required to cut open the possessed heroine and thereby unleash the son of the devil onto the world.

Those well versed in the mutiple worlds and planes of the universe know the legend that says the Spear of Destiny will appear at some point in a world's history, and change its course dramatically. It will later be found upon another world, where it will once again be directly involved in changing the path of history.

Scholars of the Spear disagree about its ultimate purpose. Some say that it is an agent of Law, bringing down tyrannical gods and empires, while others say that it is an agent of Chaos, because of the resulting upheaveal.

There is some indication that it may be the tool of a single god interested in establishing its monotheistic worship upon multiple worlds, as that often seems to be something that rises in the aftermath. Other legends say that the Spear is beyond any of the gods, and that once it has completed its purpose upon each of the worlds of the universe, the Final Day shall come when the Gods themselves will be judged.

No one knows what would happen should the Spear somehow be used a second time upon a single world, but many fear that it would unleash untold chaos across the universe.
