If Gene Splicing Became Legal And Was Available Today, Would You Get Spliced?

As per the question of the thread.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I would. If I did, I'd likely choose to be spliced with an Eagle, to be able to have great visual acuity and the ability to fly might be too tempting to pass up.

Well it depends... are the results immediate/proactive? Or are the result hereditary (ie your children gets the enhancements not you)?

Immediate. You choose the features you want from specific animals (Think Batman Beyond spliced villains).

Addendum: The benefits of being spliced would be non-hereditary.

Wow... That is so far-out question that I can't even imagine what I'd do. It's currently impossible, and I don't believe any modern nation that would have the resources to do so would ever make it legal...

Regardless... Maybe... If it was highly tested and proved to be "safe"*... Enhanced vision, strenght, endurance... Sure there are quite a few traits in the animal kingdom that would be nice to have :D

*Yes, I know safe is pretty ambigious word :D.

I'd want the strength of a bear, the agility and enhanced hearing of a great cat, the echolocation of a bat, the eyesight of an eagle, the ability to jump like a frog and the ability the natural swimming agility of a fish and the ability to filter air from water.
