If I weren't roleplaying I'd be...

Fill in the blank! What if RPGs didn't exist? How do you suppose you'd be spending your creative energies? In my off-time from freelancing, I'm trying to teach myself to play the harp. Without roleplaying "distractions", I'd likely be proficient in that instrument and be writing music for piano and harp (a great love is composing music--guess it goes along with the whole creative drive).

How about you?

I'd be spending lots more time on my art. Probably be much better at this point, too. Thinking about it, the distraction of working on my homebrew really is the one thing that keeps me from my sketchbook the most. Cursed RPGs! ;)

Harp, Napftor? How interesting.

Oddly enough, I'd probably be composing as well. Of course, I do that anyway, I just don't have a lot of time to devote to it, what with all the other things I have going on. And I'm also just not that great at it, but I'm still learning.

Yup, harp. After playing the trumpet, french horn, piano, and serving in our church's handbell choir, I thought the harp would be a neat challenge. Turns out I haven't had the time to find out. :( As for composing, yeah, I'm just an amateur as well, but it's lots of fun.

The boss instead of Number 2, and ideally, polishing my Tony and Emmy awards, and clearing space on the shelf for my Oscar.

I've been Role-Playing since I was eight, for the last three decades. I don't think I know anything else, and its our family hobby. I suppose if I had to extrapolate from what I was doing at the time, I'd be most likely creating and editing Star Trek and DC Comics Fanzines and fiction.
