If you could Add one more race to the PHB

So many!

Orc - for completeness... Half Elf + Elf. Half Orc + nothing. Upsets my sense of balance.

Goblins and kobolds - small races that are less cute.

Mul - always liked those dwarf/human hybrids from Darksun. Probably not to everyones taste though.

Do you remember the Humanoid Handbook?

I had a Firbolg character that I played in a campaign or two. He was a little on the stupid side but fun none the less.

I too would like a Large PC race. Maybe a new race of PC Giants, for example, like Monte and Co. did with Arcana Unearthed/Evolved.

Goblins and orcs would also fit quite well -- they're certainly usable as PCs anyway without all the muss and fuss of level adjustment and all that.

I'd like to see a Tiny race of fey-like critters that can fly, myself. They're not too strong and not too tough, but they are very, very quick. I'd prefer they not have the kinds of powers that the Sprites from the Monster Manual have, though.

I think that goblinoids and orcoids (?) aren't in the PHB because in most settings (including the default one) they would be unplayable due to social reasons. In fact, in the "grayhawk-ish" default setting, I think that the PC races are the only ones which can expect to show up in a town without being KOS, am I right? They are the "civilized" races.

But if we assume that we could add one more race both rule-wise and setting-wise, I'd go for orc. But that would make the half-orc redundant as a role, so I'd remove it.

I wouldn't add a Large race. I can't think of a good way to make a Large creature at LA +0, and I don't think that a core race should have a LA.
