D&D 5E If you use a +1 magic weapon with steel wind strike do you get a +1 bonus to the attack and damage roll?

It depends on if you (the DM) rule that the melee spell attack is "made" with the weapon used in casting the spell.

If yes: then you should add the bonus of the weapon to the melee spell attack rolls and the damage.
If no: then you shouldn't.

For the small bonus in damage to the 6d10 force damage, it is pretty small. The larger part is if you choose to allow adding the magical bonus to the attack roll.

Other implications apply as well. What if you cast Magic Weapon on the weapon before casting Steel Wind Strike?

If you are a rogue, can you add sneak attack if it is a finesse weapon, etc.?

If the spell's damage equaled the weapon used + 5d10 force damage, then most definitely.

Yeah, I like this a lot. I know it sounds like the dm is giving the player a lot of power here, but hear me out - yes. And why not? For a spell you have to be within 30 feet of the target to pull off in the first place, and you also wanna try and potentially get advantage for a sneak attack or use something like spirit shroud (which definitely still works provided the target you hit is within 10 feet of you) or magic weapon? Higher risk and more economy expenditure should = higher rewards imo, even/especially if it's an abnormally good amount of rewards. But hey, above all I agree that the dm has the final say in what goes.
