If YOU were a specialist wizard, what would you be?

So;

I'm curious to know what school of magic you would choose to specialize in if you were a specialist wizard, and why.

I'm not interested in your "real world" stats - Oh God, how I'm not interested - I'm just wondering what you would choose if you were a specialist wizard in a generic fantasy land.

Assume (since I know most of you will anyway :p) that you have or will have the Intelligence score to gain access to all spell levels.

Also, if you want, tou can put down what kind of spells you think you'd manifest if you were a sorcerer, instead of a wizard.

What's your choices, and why?

Me: Illusion. I've always been fascinated by the idea of painting reality, changing it to suit my whims, even if only for a moment in time. Illusion is the perfect school for that. I'd learn all the figment spells, so that I could create sound and image with a thought, then I'd spend all day trying to create wonders like a would-be Leonardo DaVinci.

If I were a sorcerer, I think I'd mostly manifest Illusion spells, as above, with a side order of flight, ability enhancing spells, and one or two electricity spells.

Thanks for asking!

I'd be a Diviner, because I instinctively seem to know what people really want. Or a Bard so I could specialize in music.

I'd be a diviner as well. I'm not adventurer material, so I'd want to be soemthign that people would use all the time. Plus I'm an academic (in training) so diviner just fits!

Necromancer. Just ask any of the guys I game with. Power of life and death, the ability to live forever. Fear spells for Halloween trick-or-treaters, curse spells for those terrible customers at work. Ah, that'd be the life.
