I'll be in NYC soon.

As the title says, I'll be taking a little mini-vacation to the City. Checking out a few things before I move there. I'll be there basically between August 1 and August 6....ish. I've already done the corny touristy stuff and it's out of my system. Anyone want to recommend something fun? Or anyone there want to say "Hi" while I'm there? Or just want to give me some well-wishes on the journey? :)

I'm entirely open to suggestions and random fun. Just looking for spitballing. :)

PB&C looks like my childhood fantasies come to life! WOW!

No gamer's trip to NYC is complete without a trip to The Compleat Strategist (11 E 33rd St, between 5th Ave and Madison Ave, 212-685-3880). It's a tiny little store with more gaming materials than you will ever need. Check store hours before planning your trip.

While there, go a block west to Foley's New York (18 W 33rd St, between 5th Ave and 6th Ave 212-290-0080). It's a great bar and grill located right across the street from the Empire State Building. The food is great, portions are large, and it's fairly inexpensive for a New York restaurant.

And of course, a non-stop source of entertainment is people-watching on the streets of NYC. I used to like to go to the New York Public Library on 5th Ave and sit on the steps and just watch the human carnival go by.
