I'm a Mammal and So Are You!

Also, let's not forget that creatures in D&D worlds mostly don't evolve. There is no such thing as evolution or natural selection in D&D settings, creatures are just created as they look now by gods, titans, primal energies, designers :D.

Dragonborn were probably just created the way they are now, so the matter is not scientifical. There are no mammals, birds or reptiles in D&D, there are magical beasts, animals, dragons, aberrations, etc.

It is an aesthetical discussion. Are female dragonborn with boobs cool? Are hairy dragonborn cool?

I am actually really ok with Dragonborn getting some hair. It sounds cool.

As it happens, Dragonborn (male and female) have long droopy spines that hang down from the back of their heads and basically function as hair.

I feel compelled to point out that I don't honestly think going to change the art direction on Dragonborn at this point, one way or another.

Since I have races and classes now...Dragonborne are basically scaly humanoids with dragon heads. (Minotaurs are a good comparison, come to think of it) Their posture and musculature is very, very, humanlike, although they're built like bodybuilders and have huge clawed feet. They don't have tails, and they don't lean forward like Lizardfolk or Kobolds.

The Female Dragonborne (only one in the book) wears a metal halter top thingie, but is not exactly bosomy. Both sexes of Dragonborne have well developed, humanlike pectoral muscles, and ribbed (sorta snakelike but divided down the middle) abdominal muscles.

They have such a human like shape already that not having boobs would probably just make them look mannish, rather than more reptilian.

Oh, and unless they're going to get into the ugliness of having characters bask in the sun before going adventuring, we probably have to accept that dragonborn are warm-blooded.

Many dinosaurs are thought to have been warm-blooded. So it's not going to be a big deal for people who care about that stuff.

Some dinosaurs had fine hairlike feathers (in addition to regular feathers).

I am still against boobs for dragonborn, though. :)

Just give them a sexy head of proto-feathers.

Hell, I've already got that for my homebrew dragon-created race.

Downside? Feather hair can be pretty easily assumed to look like anime hair. You know the kind I'm talking about.
